Christ!  I knew she’d been married before, I just didn’t know it was to you.

I’d forgotten that was there. I used to go in as a young teenager and drool over the Triumphs.

It was in Saint Mary’s street church hall , I’m sure it was a canon Edward Hannon that founded the shite

I thought they were founded at St Patrick's church in the Cowgate. :mw_confused:

Defo St Mary’s street , but I’d guess the hall would be connected in a way to the church ?

I’ve got a book on the Scottish cup written by Hugh Keevins and Kevin Mcarra which says they were founded by the RC church as at the time the good people of Edinburgh felt that the Irish catholic immigrants were , job stealing , disease spreading , slum dwelling devil worshippers . It also calls that area little Ireland which will include the church you mention I suppose ?

Thanks.

I'd imagine there's a fair few of 'them' that think the same as I did. I've seen the church named as their starting place on a few websites.

This page tells the story you mentioned. I'm away to wash my eyes with bleach after reading it.

Market street?

That's what I originally thought, but Market street is too far to the side to give that view of the hotel. But even this view of one of the entrances to the station looks too far to the right, hence my thoughts of the Waverley Market road.

This is known as the North ramp. The access for deliveries and emergency vehicles. South ramp for contractor's traffic only.

i was employed in drain cleaning and got a phone call to unblock a drain at the County Bingo but was to go next morning so that it did not incur the evening call out charge.when i got there the main door was open , i entered and went looking for anyone in charge . When i found the manager's office i knocked and entered he was counting the last night's   takings . i was shocked at the amount of bundles of £20s  £10s and £5s and loads of bags of silver and coppers and no security whatsoever. Be about '81-83 i think

Agreed.

In fact, I only realised it was here when I went searching for it in the Shed to no avail, and started looking elsewhere.

Put it back in the classics. It had its time. Only joking.

A World History would be nice.
