Even empty it was a thrill. In the days of the sppedway Edinburgh Monarchs, as kids we would go down to the pits on a Sunday and sometimes get to push some of the speedway riders motor bikes to get them started after they had worked on them. Flats I think are the ones off Spey terrace I've googled Leith Walk and those flats are hidden now from street level. They are up Middlefield I think. The building behind the petrol station also looks to have come forward a bit, where you say the Sainsbury is.
