It was some climb to get in that East Terrace. Still it was good practice for when I climbed mount Kenya.

I've googled Leith Walk and those flats are hidden now from street level. They are up Middlefield I think. The building behind the petrol station also looks to have come forward a bit, where you say the Sainsbury is. I thought the petrol station was further down past Pilrig Street so that 11 bus was throwing me a bit as well !

It's incredible to think that just back up the road next to the library at McDonald rd there was a 2nd petrol station as well ( shell I think) on leith walk . That's now gone and more student flats are there too , I'm guessing they were closed down for a few reasons with one being safety .

Is that not right outside the old Annandale at garage.

I'm sure the building to the left of the 11 is the lodge building?

Shrubhill depot was further down the Walk than Annandale Street.

I think!

The Shrubhill photo has the Shrubhill Garage on the left, it wasn't a depot but the service centre where all the major servicing on buses was carried out, and all the admin offices were. The depot on Annandale Street was Central garage. The Masonic Social Club is behind it down a long lane parallel with the railway lines. The pub in front was The Halfway House.

This thread is fantastic , you look at pictures of yesteryear thinking I know that but can’t work it out , it’s not until an updated picture is posted or someone points out where it is that it becomes obvious .

Everything changes but stays the same , keep the pics coming folks ??

Put me out my misery then, where is it?

St Mary’s street, that’s the Pleasance you can see at the bottom going up to the left.

St Mary’s street

That's what I thought but I couldn't see the arches when I looked at Google Streetview and a couple of other things seemed wrong.

You might not want to know more about it but, see the entrance next to the red painted bit that is where our rivals were originally founded ??

Just past Surgeons Hall.

South Bridge?

South College Street on the left where I was sentenced in a church to a non release sentence so far of fifty eight years, and hopefully many more. Spent many hours on that piece of Street when working the Marhal Street Beat. Just up the road the Empire Theatre and then the infamous Rat Trap.

I think it is Drummond Street, and is Andersons pub. Infirmary Street was where the swimming baths, and the pool hall were. But my memory is like other things in the antique thing I refer to as a body, no what it once was.

Actually that according to my mate ( hibs *******) who lives there reckons it’s actually Blackfriars st !

If it is it’s not where hibs were founded as they were on Saint Mary’s street
