Walt Disney? Or does he...

:laugh2:

That would be possibly 1961 when they were filming Greyfriars Bobby.

A sight some of my lot would have known well, as they lived in West Port in the 1850's.

Aye when I worked the Infirmary beat and came down the Vennel  to West Port I got complaints from the neighbors about him parking there. I seized the reins for his horse and gave him a twenty four hour leading the horse suspension, and warned him about cairt parking violations.🥴

The opposite side was where Willie Bauld stayed at some point in his life.

It's bugging me as to what it was called before The Codfather.

On a chippy side note, I see the Globetrotter has changed it's name to Saltwater.

Something tells me The Globie is not going to be as good. Could have picked a better name for a start

On the corner of Nicolson Street and West Nicolson St?  Think I'm remembering it from around late 70s to early mid eighties, although of course it may have been around later.

Ainslie Park high school.

Not sure when it became a high school as it was just known as a secondary school during my time there (1967-71). It was then the second biggest school in Edinburgh with over 2,000 pupils serving Piton, West Pilton, Royston, Granton, Easter Drylaw and Telford. Irwin Welsh and the ex MP Ron Brown were former pupils.

This has probably been posted before. The Gloria Swanson film came out in 1922. Now the Filling Station with the buildings to the left demolished to make way for the extension of the city chambers.

It was called the high school when I started in ‘79 so changed sometime in the ‘70s.

Ron Brown lived up the road from us in Pilton and used to work in Parsons Peebles with my old man. I think I’m right in saying that’s where he had his accident that scarred his face and neck.

Doesn't ring a bell, but I haven't got a clue so it very well might have been that. 👍
