The mirror finish on the Menzies sign is iconic. I can never place it when I walk along Princes Street now.

It's 'next' these days, between Castle street and Fredrick street

Good move to put it on top !

It's the worse part of it for me so I get it out the way or just launch it.

You can get them with no walnut now, they're just called 'Whips'.

By a country mile. A lot of places that were nice before are utter dumps now. Loads of folk in rented accommodation dont give a toss about the place they live in and as a consequence the rest of that area suffers.

Opened in January 2000 and by about March there had been the same amount of fights.

I'll bet it even had one of those anti-static things attached to the rear bumper too.

You can’t take risks with car sickness mate. It’s a serious business.

Didn't that turn out to be absolute tosh spread by the likes of Halfords to help flog them?

Wasn't it opened in '99? I seem to recall paying a visit on the same evening we beat England at Wembley (Don Hutchison goal).

That was November was it not? Aye, could well have been if it wasn't the January. I never actually set foot in the place!

Indeed it was! My compass is somewhat ski whiff even though I'm still looking at the pic thinking it was actually there.

I used to be able to spot every store detective in the place, often went up to the roof garden with a bamboo stick and chewing gum to see what we could get from the wishing well.

Used to play up on the roof garden - my granny would meet her pals there (including sean connery's mum I think)

Had to just check and both legs were mid November.

My mate had an Eros/Elite 'medallion' which he acquired from somewhere. It got a group of us queue jump, free entry and into their 'VIP' area! 😄 The glory days!

I'm sure the pre drinks were in a place next door called Branigans.

Aye, Branigans was next door and I'm sure I was in there at some point. Hard to believe it was over 20 years ago.
