Actual drives me nuts that they keep cutting it so short. How is the blade supposed to absorb any light when it’s 3mm long.. ffs it’s not a bowling green..

We need solutions not problems!!!!

Also, didn't we spend like £1m on that? For that I'm expecting to be able to live on the ****ing thing.

Didn’t one of them work at Morrison’s before hearts? Hardly a grass specialist tbf.

Someone was saying to me that one of the light trailers was sitting outside the ground most of the season?

that murrayfield photo shows the pitch covered in lights, maybe we aren’t giving ours enough?

These lightning rigs ain't cheap. We have 6 in total. Plus we don't have the resources that the SRU have.

no point spending £1million on a new pitch then scrimping on the upkeep

Although Scotland only play 5 times a year on that pitch Edinburgh Rugby play home league and cup games on it so its probably used for the equivalent amount of matches as our pitch is over the same period

As I've said previously on this topic the pitch was fine this time last year with the same amount of lighting rigs.

I've not heard any excuses made by the club, manager, players or opposition about the state of the pitch.

Be interesting to see if that changes when we string a few wins together shortly.

Lennon was moaning about it after they won. Par for the course though really.

Much further apart though.

May be the case in Summer but not the case in Winter. Hence the reason their pitch is entirely covered with lighting rigs at this time of year.

I sit near the corner we trainand warm up.

You'd think you'd rotate the corner that players train at tbh.

20+ folk Litterally stamping about the same part of grass every time can't be good, the pitch is knackered before ko.

The goals and keeper go there too.

St Johnstone and Celtic fast feet were done under control room corner while the goal was at the wheatfield side. Hibs and Aberdeen they were switched over. Most clubs have a large area off they pitch that they can do these things and I’m in the middle of trying to come up with a plan for fast feet and that cause every club problems.

what are you talking about? Is it Stendel’s fault the pitch is goosed?

Levein had them on the pitch once or twice a week when he was in charge? Were the ground staff concerned then?

Yes. They were.

3 hours ago, davemclaren said:

The pitch didn’t look great before Stendel arrived so I imagine not. I’ve no idea if Levein did or not though the implication was he did it less.

Personally I think it’s a good idea to do some training on the pitch otherwise it is little better than an away game on matchday.

Did you offer them your lawnmower?

This post, word for word, is absolute bullshit.

It's certainly in an horrendous condition.

Surely the company involved in the installation will be working with the club to get to the problem and come up with a resolution?

Its supposed to be technological wonder after all!!

Have you saw the state of our new million pound pitch ?

It's terrible and no better than any other teams pitch and weve paid a massive price for it

Do you think weve got value for money compared to the rest of the teams in Scotland for spending £1 million

Could give a **** mate tbh.

It's a football pitch, I played on a pitch that had wood shavings for lines and the Mole hills had to be trampled down before we kicked off.

I'd quite like to play at Tynecastle right now with the small smattering of Grass.

Call me old fashioned.

A bit of a waste of £1m for just a football pitch?
