p8 backwards

its a bit of a joke when the top 10 start to get lapped imo

i agree, i find it really hard to have a driver debate because the gap between the teams is so huge these days - everyone up to 5th was lapped in barca as well by red bull and mclaren...

paul di reata for example could be he best formula 1 driver of ll time but it makes not a jot of difference as his car is so poor, daft example maybe but you get my point..

It is a joke but its always been part of F1 unfortunatly.

But in 1967 at Monza Jim Clark was winning and got a puncture. He got his tyre changed and was lapped by the field. He caught up with the leaders albeit a lap down and got past them to unlap himself. It didn't take long before he caught them all up and passed them for the lead. He was going to win but his engine went on the last lap and he trundled over the line in 3rd. They reckon it was his finest race.

Maybe if the fastest started at the back then they'd need to fight they're way through we wouldn't get drivers being lapped. Obviously they'd need to give points out for qualifying etc. so probably wouldn't work.

Hungarian GP qualifiying about to start.

Who'll be on pole? Hamilton? Alonso? Webber? Vettel? Most likely Vettel.

I see they've dropped Turkey from the calander. Decent track but no fans. I'd like them to drop Hungary and Valencia too. Maybe go back to France. France deserves a GP.

Would agree with that, drop Bahrain permanently as well because it's a shite race...

Strange practice sessions, mclaren looked great yesterday but set up Changes Today don't seem to have worked... Between vettel and Hamilton for me

Don't think its the set up. Think it was the cross winds.

Yeah drop Bahrain too. It is a terrible circuit.

Could be a very interesting start. even no.s on slow side. If Button can get his act together from the start he could be the surprise leader in the first lap. Poor Massa, gets the Quali place ahead of Alonso but ends up on the slow side. Still - Hamilton to win.

Decent race so far. Hoping to see a McLaren 1, 2. Long way to go and still more rain on the way.

What a race. The rain causing havoc. Hamilton and Button exchanging the lead 3 or 4 times in the last few laps.

Just watched the race after recording it due to the football.

Another fantastic race. 88 pit stops all in.

The weather and the tyres not lasting make for fantstic racing.

Superb from Button. Unlucky for Hamilton. I felt the drive through was harsh. di Resta avoided him easily. Had di Resta lost places I'd have understood it.

Brilliant result by di Resta. He was fairly shifting towards the end. Bigger teams must be looking at him.

I've been to Belgium twice before and its superb. Best 1 I've been to.

We booked it in January so I've had 6 months to wait. Then the fixture list came out and I was gutted to be missing the derby then we draw Spurs in Europe so I was even more gutted. Not too bothered now after Thursday tho.

Bound to be wet so the great racing will be even better.

I'm the only Hearts fan on rhe trip and only 1 other is a football fan so a detour via London wasn't an option. But after THursdays result I'm quite glad.

I had hoped we'd get Standard Liege so I'd get to the away leg but sadly not.

The weather on Friday and Saturday isn't looking good. I'd rather it was dry until the race.

Bring it on.

Ha ha! Your right no chance of Spa being dry but the forecast says wet Friday and Saturday and dry on Sunday. How often do they get the forecast right there?

Can't see it being anything other than great. Cheers.

Spa is the number 1 track on the circuit IMO. All these new efforts in Asia / Middle East still have nothing on it.

+1 it's the speed, change of camber and hills, changeable weather combined with some of te best viewing locations on the calendars it really is a beast of a circuit

Hermann tilke should look at places like spa... Although credit where it's due new tracks are heavily regulated by the fia for some reason in terms of slopes camber and it probably wouldn't be allowed

Spa is the best circuit in the world imo.

I've been to Spain a few times which is quite boring and I've been to Magny Cours. They should reinstate France asap and drop quite a few new circuits. France was a great party on the campsite.

Forgot all about Magny Cours.

I've been to Spain and Monaco. Loved the Spanish one and the Monaco one for the event - the racing was shite.

All the new circuits seem to be massive straights and wide corners.

Was a super race, shame for Hamilton. Vettel's luck was in !

Just about to watch it on BBC3. Saw the start before I left this afternoon, looking forward to watching it.
