Had the urge to rewatch this Nolan classic from the early 00s starring Pacino, Swank and Williams. Didn't disappoint.

paul newmans finest hour. Fantastic film that I’d never seen to my shame. Some on screen charisma oooft. Brilliant movie and time flew by watching it

10/10

One of my top 5.

No particular order.

One flew over Cuckoo Cuckoo nest

It's a Wonderful life

Cool Hand l Luke

12 angry men

I am Legend.

Tho King Kong original, Serpico, Die Hard, Rocky and Dirty Harry might be in and out of the 5.

And I have many other favourites like, Arlington Rd, Deadly Pursuit, The Silent Partner and Enter the Dragon. :D

Not seen Cool Hand Luke for years, but remember saying it was my favourite film after watching it. I’m sure I read that he did actually eat all those eggs.

I'm watching the Mission Impossible films tonight.

Catching up, missed the last couple. For pure entertainment I never thought I'd say it but they're better than the last few Bond offerings imo.

I love them. Favourite was ghost protocol. Superb. The 3rd one with Philip Seymour Hoffman was another favourite.

Tom Cruise rarely makes a poor film for me , they are always really good

Ghost Protocol was amazing. It was the last one I'd seen so I started tonight with Rogue Nation and followed it with Fallout but its been so long that I wish I'd just started over at the first and worked through them in sequence over the next few days (although I remember the 2nd one being a bit iffy). They're just seriously entertaining films and don't take themselves seriously. Exactly what I want from an action film.

Totally agree as well about Cruise. I tend to enjoy anything he's in.

:spoton: James Bond stopped being fun when it decided to become a copy of Jason Bourne

Yeah, rarely makes a dud. Even Reacher, where he was badly miscast, was still an enjoyable film if you could overlook the size thing.

Godfather Part 2.

I don’t think there’s ever been a sequel so perfect.  Chilling and mesmerising with a score that is perfection

Oscar winning score by Francis Ford Coppola’s father.

All good shouts but nah.  none of them had the bar set as high as the godfather in the first place.

it’s arguable Star Wars but empire was (for me) only on a par

Nino Rota wrote the music I thought and I understood it was only conducted by Carmine Coppola ??

doesn’t matter as obviously a collaboration 👍👍

Watched the 4K version of The Thing 1982 last week, so thought I would have a go at the remake from 2011.

Utter garbage.  Terrible writing, terrible cinematography, terrible editing and laughable CGI.

3/10

+ 2 for Mary Elisabeth Winstead

5/10

Carl Fredrickson

Watched the original The Exorcist last night for the first time. At the time it may have been ground breaking and scary but to me, it was like watching an old B movie.

Her butt in Ahsoka made an already very decent show a 10. It's outrageous in the flight suit she wears.

John wick 4 😳 load of tosh, especially the scene where he is fighting on the stairs whilst doing the hokey cokey

Wish I'd seen this accurate review before sitting through it...Absolutely dreadful. Survives 3.5m bullets and 1m stabs then gets killed by getting winged in the gut...
