I thought the player realised the danger and decided to lie down. Thought the ref was spot on.

...should have held his hammy. Play would have stopped immediately 🙄

I don't have a problem with Mike Dean - not sure why anyone up here would tbh - but i think he got this wrong.

Some people like refs not to be noticed.

No chance of that with him

Anthony Taylor is another one.

Means he gets to ref Man Utd matches

Surprising how the top 6 clubs are not declared though this list is from 4 years ago

In the EPL its very difficult not to notice ANY referee nowadays, with so many cameras at the games, every decision they make over analysed and the introduction of VAR, has made it even harder, to not notice the referee.

Only a matter of time before they get a sticker in the Panini albums

Ironic that Leeds have 7 first team starters injured. Just have a squad of about 20 plus teenagers.

Probably win tonight though as that's fairly typical after 7-0 defeat.

He is quite often spotted watching Tranmere. Seems an awfully elaborate ploy.

Agreed. I've seen that sort of thing happen to Hearts on a number of occasions except the ref has always blown the whistle. I'd bet the mortgage that had Newcastle been breaking with the ball when he had a quick glance he'd have been straight back up but saw Liverpool had it and tried to get the ref to stop the game.

Sneaky post

2 penalties & 2 red cards missed (if I remember correctly) and he’s been given the Derby again this season. How Mike Dean is allowed to referee Liverpool games is beyond me, especially big games like this. Our league is a joke, absolute shit show that they’re not even tryna hide

That would have been a waste of time getting up. Dean would have stopped the game if that was the case

Most Woolly Backs have an interest in either Liverpool or Everton. Safe to assume Mike Dean's passing interest is with the red side.

I don't think he was allowed to ref Liverpool matches at first but he must have convinced the powers that be he's Tranmere through and through.

There is a reason they're collectively known as the bitters. I'm guessing you might be one of them as well.

I just work with a lot of football fans of other clubs and have some good discussions about their clubs.

Proper football fans not the plastics just to be clear

The only pointless thing was your attempt to make out that Dean is a fanatical reman.

Bazzas right boot

English football is just folk rolling about trying to get others sent off.

It's ridiculous.

Every missed time tackle is acted out like an  assault.

2 mins later player is fine.

Needs cut out.

Leeds getting the dry boaby.

I know they have half the team out injured and another bunch out with Covid, but the manager should have a plan to deal with that.

They're totally clueless tonight.

I see the Premier League are doing that thing again over Christmas where most clubs play Sunday then Tuesday but other clubs get 3 and even 4 days between games.

VAR told Sky Sports the penalty was not given as “Cancelo came away with the ball”

What kind of logic is that ? 🤣

Be clearing people out all the time in that case 🤣

Either a great save or a sitter missed from Jesus

I'll go with the latter - he should be scoring that from point blank range

Kane could/should have been sent off for a lunge at Robertson.

One of those ones that could go either way. Definite yellow, potentially a red.

Struggling to see why that isn't a red. Just as Diogo scores. 1-1.

See also Xhaka yesterday, below. I was debating another foul just like that earlier with season with journalists and it seems that is no longer deemed a red card.

there was also a similar challenge from the leeds striker yesterday that got him a yellow and it was something like 30 seconds after that from xhaka
