If I'm understanding this properly, we've went from a 16 day shutdown of hospitality, to that being extended to next Monday to it then being a tiered system where most of the country still has a hospitality  shutdown.

Anything approaching  normal for the hospitality industry is miles away.. Probably  only when there is a vaccine  rolled out.

No, we can't have numbers showing reduction. We need to be kept in state of fear. We must face FACTS and be frightened to speak to neighbours, friends and colleagues. We need to be encouraged to hide away in homes and only go,out to hit pots and pans protecting the NHS.

The tiers do appear to be very strict.  Looks like they're going very hard on hospitality and the same arguments will be offered regarding how much spread is going on in hospitality settings.  It should be remembered that hospitality is being singled out because it's really the only area that they can exert control over and police it.  It's the one controllable area.  It's pretty brutal but it's not hard to see why it's being targeted.

Looks mum & dad for going for a bevvy any time soon.

Unbelievable how much arse licking going on, telling us how she’s a great leader and doing a brilliant job at keeping us all safe and they can’t wait to hear from her today 🙄🙄🙄

It's a cult. Pure and simple.

Brighton Jambo

If people can’t go to the pub/restaurant for months or decide they won’t go due to the curfews/alcohol restrictions then they will simply start visiting the houses of friends and family as many people simply won’t go months again without seeing anyone.

And yet in hospitality venues social distancing measures can be enforced and checked upon but inside people’s homes there is no control.

The government have got this all wrong.  People need an outlet to see each other, surely better to have one that can be rigorously controlled and monitored than the free for all of being in someone’s home unchecked.

They know fine well what tier they are going to put Lanarkshire and all the rest in so why not just tell us today?

They have to wait till Thursday to make us all tune in again for the big announcement 😡

A good example of that will be this weekend. 6 of us going to my mates house at lunch time for the game.

We’d have normally met up in the pub where there would strict checks and table service ect

Soon as you go to someone’s house then people don’t care

They've certainly made a rod for their own back anyway.  There's a decent chance this wont be enough and then it's going to be pretty difficult to change course again.

Just spent the last hour or so wandering about the Gyle shopping centre waiting on my daughter getting her eyes tested . Now at the risk of sounding like the mask police ,I’d say most people were wearing masks , some not wearing any , I guess they are exempt, however after all this time and having the wearing of masks drilled into us for weeks, how is it some people can’t wear the bloody things properly .

Either wear it properly or just don’t bother , it’s not ****ing rocket science on how to wear it , cover your nose and face FFS .

Someone also needs to invent no fog glasses , pissing me off as well 😡😡

rant over

The glasses steaming up is a pain.  Put mine in my pocket last week as I couldn't see what I was buying.  Broken by the time I got out the shop.  Gutted.

So when does the latest round of Sharia Stugeon kick in? And will I be able to get a pint or a glass of wine with my dinner in Crieff next week?

Well you are breaking the rules and should be deleting this post

are you not mature enough to be able to watch the game on your own? Do you really need to be watching with someone else.
you can also do a video call while the game on if you are not able to watch something on your own

Uh oh, someone will be along in a minute to tell you that you're a twit for breaking the law. Same for us though, half a dozen heading to the mates house around 1.00. Pretty sure there will be packed houses all over Edinburgh on Saturday afternoon.

The Mrs has the cheek to have her birthday on Halloween, Gin, so it'll only be the bare dozen chaps round for the game before I boot them on to the street and get the romantic dinner on.

A couple of them are flying in for it so they'll start their quarentine on Sunday.

Or maybe Monday if we win. 👍

Sounds like a decent bash. I’d **** those arrangements right up btw. Her birthday celebrations would be binned and I’d be buying flowers and perfume for a month to try and make up.

Yep and the vaccine won’t be ready for public roll out for another 18 months.
In and out of lockdowns for the next couple of years then.

Personally speaking, I'm not dealing with this very well and welcome any opportunity to socialise with friends on a face to face basis and not some video/zoom call or whatever you are suggesting. I'm more concerned about my mental health than any rule breaking.

That'll be fine as the supreme leader has given it the nod.

Like going out before 6pm or a meal with pop, it'll be covid free.

Saying that pubs can open in tier 3 but not sell alcohol is bizarre to say the least.

How so?

It's better than a blanket ban - allows those who want to try and get by serving food or acting more as a cafe to do so. Not sure many will take the SG up on that offer however it's clear if they didn't allow this they would be shut until next year based on tiers.

Also allows for places to diversify - for example the club in Livingston which was doing kids events but couldnt as it was a licensed premise can now do so.

I think the problem might be linking alcohol to the spread of the virus.

500 odd cases in 7 months is **** all, we didn’t need a lockdown like the rest of the uk. Simple as that.
