You could always take a holiday yourself Redjambo

(I'm only saying that, to be honest, because I doubt you will and hope you wont!)

:D It has become such a part of my daily routine now, Scott, that I'd probably not feel at ease unless I got something out the door. In saying that, though, I do look forward to the day when these reports become redundant, and so therefore do I.

There are also some notes about today's case numbers by Health Board.

Today's Lothian figure is inflated by 31 historical cases from 29 January to 22 Marchy.  Greater Glasgow and Lanarkshire have also swapped a couple of cases. Western Isles hasn't submitted figures for a couple of days.

The well-oiled data machine purrs on, I see. :) Thanks for the info, FF.

Watched a piece on this, this morning.

White British uptake in over 70’s in about 91%. Ethnicity uptake in same age group.

  • Black African people – 58.8%
  • Black Caribbean people – 68.7%
  • Bangladeshi people – 72.7%
  • Pakistani people – 74.0%

When I saw it this morning I was surprised by the differences.

Apparently it’s due to lack of trust in non BAME people ? People may think it’s ludicrous but it really hit me earlier thinking about the briefings and no BAME representation I can think of ? Only person I’ve seen is Devi Sridhar and she’s just an advisor .

Humza Yousaf has appeared at a couple of the Scottish ones (where policing was involved). Have Sunak and Patel not appeared in the UK ones too?

I agree - the trouble is simply representation at the highest levels isn't proportionate to the population. More surprising in advisors rather than ministers as the minority communities, particularly Asian , are well represented in the higher echelons of the  medical professions (31% of senior doctors but only 7.1% of senior medical staff significantly)

Out of Lothian's 109 cases today, 46 were for Edinburgh. However, based on the Specimen Date, only 38 of Edinburgh's total related to the last few days and will end up being included in the ongoing 7 day/100k rate, so slightly better that it first looks.  I'd expect Edinburgh's rates to start coming down again in the next couple of days (fingers crossed).

We need Stormzy front and centre, next to Boris, spitting mad rhymes to appeal to other demographics.

To be fair I have seen Sunak, Patel and zahawi who have all been front a centre. There probably a couple of others if I decided to think about it. Whilst there have been a few campaigns aimed at these groups as it was picked up as an earlier issue. That said your probably right the under representation probably adds to concerns.

Humza Yousef has done a couple on Fridays here when there has been a key justice, police message but fundamentally cover is provided by Swinney or Freeman if they key message of the Friday cover has been health or education.

The weekly vaccine supply figures suggest that the SG is being a little bit canny in administering doses, perhaps to smooth out the forecast supply bumps during April.

To date 2.77m doses (1st and 2nd doses) have been administered.  However the SG has taken delivery of 3.26m, so has a surplus of 483k immediately available (it won't be quite that high due to wastage).

In addition SG has been allocated 3.74m doses in total, meaning that it has reserves of another 487k to call on at short notice.

Adding the current surplus to the allocated reserves it gives a total of around 969k doses readily available, which should be sufficient to meet the needs of JCVI groups 1-9 by mid April (circa 400k) in addition to the 2nd dose needs up to the end of April (circa 500k).

I'm certain that further supplies will still become available during April, albeit not necessarily as high as in the previous couple of months, but I think the figures look sufficiently positive for the under 50s to start getting their appointment letters later in April.

They will obviously be wary of making sure they have enough in reserve to administer the 2nd doses to those who are due but the gyle vaccine centre was like a ghost town yesterday. They must have been using about 30% of available space. More staff/volunteers than anything else going on. Do they really need so much in reserve ?

Only 4 vaccinators yesterday when two weeks ago there was 16 with available space for 32. Not anticipating an uptick for a while.

2nd doses now being prioritised over people recieving their first which makes sense to keep things moving whilst there's a slight lull in deliveries. We have enough but if there's any further supply issues it'll start causing problems for the under 50's getting done. That's not anticipated though.

You two need to book a room. You will have to wait though as not allowed to meet up under current restrictions and its still too cold for outside tryst.

Will the romance continue to sizzle until then though? It's like the online dating thread all over again.

What is the difference going to be?

Stay at home and people were moving about their local area for exercise etc

Stay local and people can only move around their own area.

The Welsh have been able to take holidays in Wales since Saturday and we're not even allowed out of our local area for another month.

Sturgeon can GTF.

As long as the PM of the United Kingdom says it's ok to move around and stay in holiday accommodation, that's good enough for me

WTF! Have you been hitting the peach schnapps again tonight? This is typical, *TYPICAL*, of you. :(

I devoted six years of my life to you and Tommy. Six whole years. I gave up so much to be with you, and I threw myself in wholeheartedly to make you both happy. For feck's sake, I even went along on your trips into the hills to look for your bloody dinosaur fossils with you, no matter the weather. And all those times we'd relax in the evening in front of the fire, you with your schnapps and me with my beer, listening to our REO Speedwagon records. All for what? Bloody Linda with the fancy suitcase and the false eyelashes. And he/she ( I never did find out which) was only the tip of the icecream. *Me*, a slut?! Hah!!!

Look, you promised you'd leave me alone on here. Morgan, that we could exist together on JKB without getting in each other's way, and now you do this?!! I honestly suspect that some JKB posters were even starting to think that I might be a bit cool after all. Do you know how many years and how many posts I had to make to achieve that?!! And now you come in and ruin it all, casting aspersions like they were confetti, bringing my hard-earned reputation into disrepute. Why?! Just why?!

It's just so tiring. "His name is Thomas". Bloody hell, that's it, I'm going to bed. Hopefully I'll wake up tomorrow to find that none of this actually happened.

Just in case there's any part of you that does look fondly back on those times, this is for you:

Hah!!!

Och, don't worry about it, James. Once Morgan sobers up and I've had a good night's sleep, we'll be back to normal. Hopefully.

By the way, can you PM me please? I tried PMing you earlier on and it said that you weren't receiving PM's. Perhaps your inbox is full? Cheers.

O beware, my Governor, of jealousy; It is the green-eyed monster which doth mock the meat it feeds on.

After a spell at sea, red, anyone that wants to feed on the meat is more than welcome, but I can assure you, there will be no mocking. 👍
