That 19 bus service was part of my meeting my wife. On the Saturday she and her friend went to the Cavendish the friend met a guy and wanted to see him again. On the following Wednesday they were told to get a 19 bus and it would take them right to the Cav. They got to the bus stop and waited an hour and a half for a number 19, Louise the friend was shy and despite Esthers insistence would not ask for help. Esther got mad and asked a guy who told her the bus was a rush hour bus and stopped running two hours ago. Louise wanted to just go home, but Esther being who she was said no way, I am not going through this for nothing we get the next bus thats going there, and they did. Not long after I arrived  asked Esther for a dance, and the next sixty two years were spent together.

whoever we meet and marry it's a fluke i was in the queue with the mate outside muscular arms circa 1978 was being a bit arsy and marching up to bouncers and basically saying when are we getting in when we eventually got to he door the bouncer said your not getting in your drunk i was half pished anyway my mate grabbed a couple of lassies from Melrose who also got turned away and threw one at me and we ended up in The Americana and the rest as they say is history. Ruby wedding anniversary in March doesn't look like we will be able to celebrate much.

Having been absent from many parts of Edinburgh for over fifty years it is indeed amazing such as this picture to see those new high rise buildings in what appears to be normal older residential areas. Possibly even corporation houses. I have absolutely no clue to where that could be.

The only Lindsay Place I know is/was in Leith just off Lindsay Road where I grew up. This can't be the same Lindsay Place.

If its this photo you referring too Bob, its Martello Court at Muirhouse, think it was around the 60's it was built?

After I posted I remembered one being built around the early sixties, I seem to recall during building of one the sun decks had been put on the wrong way around and a workman stepped out on one and they went down like a deck of cards. I think he died as a result.
