I know there was leaked photo from team he is going to but why haven't we announced Nowak away yet?

Considering we’ve had a good relationship with Liverpool regarding use of their let’s be honest average younger players with N’Goo and Randall.

How about some quality like Trent Alexander Arnold and Ben Woodburn?

Since moving him to RB (which is his preferred position), Randall has been very decent.

Curious one. Unless this photo was photoshopped (why would it be?) then perhaps he agreed personal terms but the teams haven’t quite agreed the fee yet and Panionios jumped the gun?

Mark Davies anyone ??

Would we worth looking at. Could be a Phil Stamp-esque signing, good player who would potentially stand out at SPL level

Yeah that's the pic.

It was Saturday I first saw it so assume we would have announced something by this morning at latest.

Surely you only do pics with strip/scarf above head when the deal is completely done.

Similar to the Smith-Brown situation, is he a Hearts player or not?

Very odd stuff. The Smith-Brown thing too - an article saying he’d went to Manchester to see a specialist and regain fitness but nowt about loan being cancelled. I think he’s still a Hearts player, and I’d guess Nowak isn’t. Think one of these journalists should ask Levein next press conference.

Could mean Souttar moving forward into midfield?

Why do people keep suggesting we move Souttar into midfield?

Seriously no offence but why would anyone think splitting up the best centre back partnership in the league would be a good thing for us.

Just looking at his qualities as a ball playing CB he is more than capable of stepping forward intho the CDM role with ease. Therefore speculation he might is a reasonable path to go down

John Souttar came to hearts knowing he’d be playing centre half and having been assured that’s where we would play him.

he won’t be going in to midfield.

If I remember correctly, part of the reason he left Dundee Utd for us was because they saw him as a midfielder and he wanted to stay at the back. I see the logic but doubt it will happen

I wasn't suggesting that it was a good idea, just that if we are looking at a centre back it might indicate that we are struggling to get a dm and can move e him forward in the interim

Personally I'm all for it.  At worst, it allows for a bit of 'multi-tasking' around the workplace.  At best, we end up with extra cover.

I'm hoping to see McLaughlin get a run out at right midfield before the end of the season.  Lafferty could probably do quite well in goals I think.

If it works we could really do it properly at all levels of the club.  See if Budge can hack it at right-back while Jamie Brandon takes over chairwoman duties.  Such a scheme could even allow us to find an appropriate role within the club for Buaben.

I was with you until you said there would be a role for Buaben.

Latest info from Notts in the Lafferty thread (for people not wanting to bother with 24 pages and who understandably wouldn’t think to look there) the defensive midfielder is apparently a guy from F.C. Sion who was at Tynecastle today - but no name or confirmation they will sign.

I've mentioned this before, but CL said in a press conference around Christmas that smith-brown wouldn’t be coming back. I've no idea why the loan cancellation wasn't processed until today but it was known he wasn't coming back.

Now, that would certainly fit the “****ing quality” criteria.

I think there’s a good chance we might get him at the end of the season, either that or he’ll get no game time at Liverpool. Championship club maybe?

Do we need three right backs though? When does Smith's contract expire? I really like Brandon and would like to see him get a run at right wing back.

3 for every position is a bit luxurious for us unless you are talking about players like smith who can be LB, RB and CB?

We need to be looking at keepers that are also ball winning midfielders.

Fingers crossed something happens tomorrow.

2 quality players in midfield and forward positions and the rest of the season could be really great. Considering how we all felt at the end of August, this would has been and could continue to be one of the best comebacks in my lifetime.

I think it's one of those situations where a player is dump with the kids to force him out of the club.
