Getting a bit tired of Sturgeon telling us all that we want a Labour-led government. By all means promote your own party but **** off deciding who else we should be voting for.

ditto, on her high horse speaking for all of scotland

Queen Nicola saying there is now way the SNP will win every seat. If that is true then it will shatter a few dreams of their supporters. Oh and remember the SNP are always right so her view must be accepted.

Where did she say they COULD win all 59 seats, any links.......it's okay, there's none to be found.

Not even speaking for the whole of Scotland. Her "get the tories out" line is speaking for the whole of the UK.

Do you expect him to admit that?

That's politics, too.

You could turn it around by stating that Nicola not admitting that the SNP is now a wasted vote is also politics.

It's all part of the Great Game.

Quite.

You could argue all votes are wasted unless your party wins outright!

Hence why we need PR.

As an aside, I was looking back at my GE voting history.

1992 - Edinburgh West.  Voted Liberal, Tories won.

1997 - Edinburgh West. Voted Liberal.  Liberal won.

2001 - Edinburgh Central. Voted Scottish Socialist.  Labour won.

2005 - Edinburgh South West.  Voted Scottish Socialist.  Labour won.

2010 - Edinburgh South West.  Voted Lib Dem (WTF???  I knew the candidate...)  Labour won.

So I've played 5, won 1, lost 4.

Who wants my vote then???

I hope you all enjoy Tory Governments, Minor/Major for the rest of your natural lives, as long as we're part of the UK political union, it is after all the Unionist Party.

I would prefer the STV as you can vote for who you want first but gives flexibility for your vote not to be wasted if you know your preferred candidate doesn't have a chance.

Also I think it's important to keep a constituency set up to allow people to have local representative who they can contact.

"The only way the SNP can exert the ultimate control over a minority Labour administration is by voting with the Tories. Without Tory votes, the SNP can huff and puff but it cannot blow the Westminster house down. Armed with those Tory votes it?s another matter. But that is the one place that Nicola Sturgeon has sworn never to go, on principle. The ability to call her bluff would give Labour a big advantage if it gets the opportunity to use it".

Has she shot her load too early?

Wouldn't it be nice to have an election campaign about policies and principles?  Instead we have an election campaign completely dominated by theoretical discussions about the post-election make-up of the Commons.  Longest and weirdest election campaign I've lived through.

By building such a barrier between themselves and the Conservatives, the SNP is promoting and embracing the same old divisive policies that have been a feature of the House for decades. Not exactly the breath of fresh air we were hoping for.

And yes, I get the historical reasons behind this but is Sturgeon going to sit with her fingers in her ears at every Tory policy, even if it does actually benefit Scotland (stop sniggering at the back!)?

Vote with Labour

Abstain (no voice for Scotland, the Feeble Fifty-Plus)

Vote with the Tories (a deal with the Deil)

These are the SNP's choices.

It has been absolutely ****ing shite.

The only difference I can establish between Labour and the Tories is that Labour won't have an EU referendum. Other than that, yada

It depends what the SNP want to do.

I don't think they want to "blow the house down".  The SNP could always abstain, which isn't supporting Labour OR the Tories.

However - we all know what really is going on here - they want frozen out. That'll be the 'changer' that gets the referendum on the 2016 manifesto and sees me triumphant in my bet with Mr Dundas.

In what way have the majority of Scottish MP's been able to exercise authority in this recent parliament?

Or, say, from 1983-1997?

Not sure the SNP want frozen out.  I'd say it's more to do using their votes in the best interests (as they see it) of Scotland and, to a lesser extent, the UK.

Less necessary?  I disagree.  Given it's Westminster that dishes out the pocket money, perhaps more necessary?

Personally, I'd love a fully federalised UK...but it ain't gonna happen!

Right here is where im at, voted snp in elections the last 8 years & yes last year. But tbh their schtick is getting tiresome. **** if Nicola doesn't get pumped it's the tories fault!! Need more than that to win me over. Also I haven't seen any improvement in my area since the nats won holyrood. Angela Constance was the last mp for Livi south but apart from another snp lady campaigning not one other party has been out to win votes.

Who else realistically is there to vote for up here??

It's all he/she said bullshit and what who spent what 10/20/30 years ago. What about now? That's what's important to people like me who don't support parties like football teams. Looking to get a better job, health, lifestyle and future.

It's looking easier not to vote which would annoy me.

By being to maniacal and messianic, the SNP have a weakness the Soviet Union had: they can break but they cannot bend. No compromise is possible. No referendum will keeping the zombie hordes out.

If you're still in Livingston, here's the record of Graeme Morrice, the sitting Labour MP:

  • Voted moderately for more EU integration Details
  • Voted very strongly against university tuition fees Details
  • Voted strongly against fewer MPs in the House of Commons Details
  • Voted strongly against a reduction in spending on welfare benefits Details
  • Voted strongly for paying higher benefits over longer periods for those unable to work due to illness or disability Details
  • Voted very strongly against reducing housing benefit for social tenants deemed to have excess bedrooms (which Labour describe as the "bedroom tax")

The Conservative candidate was at school with me and he's a nice guy and knows every train station and timetable in the UK.

My floating-voter father-in-law has backed the losing candidate at every single US Presidential election since he was first able to vote back in the 60s. Which, if you think about it a wee bit, really does take some doing...

I'll repeat what I asked earlier

What power does wee Jimmy Krankie think she can exert on Labour (if the largest party) in Westminster?  Prof Curtice is right.

If/when Miliband says no to the removal of Trident and no to another referendum and it ever went to a vote the SNP will come home with their tails between their legs because the Tories and LibDumbs will be honour bound to vote with Labour or abstain.  The ONLY thing SNP can do is vote with Labour on Labour issues.  To let the Tories in again would extend the bedroom tax, tax cuts for the rich, threshold increase in IHT etc etc and if that happened they would be slaughtered in the next Westminster election.

Despite all their huff and puff I'm not sure they have anywhere to go and that's why Ed says he'll not do a deal/coalition with them.

To get anything done for Scotland she will have to cut out the threats and admit her bark is worse than her bite.  She has nowhere to go.

Sidsnot - if you re-read my post re QNS i'm sure you will see I never said she had claimed the SNP would will all the Scottish seats in the GE i merely pointed out that she has apparently expressed her view that the SNP will not win all these seats. Hope that helps clarify things for you.
