So, after 2 days of golf heres my honest opinion being there.

The team element is much more pronounced this year. More players wearing the team badge and there were groups of fans for specific teams.

I like the team element alot.

Crowds: id estimate around 15 to 20k over the 3 days. Pretty similar to mayakoba PGA tournaments.

Fan experience: Fun, but much more could be done especially engagement beyond the tournament.

Course: Stunning.

Best Golf: Great long put for Birdie by Brooks Keopka we were at front of Gallery

Best Moment: Raccoons stopping play on 17.

Following Poulter and Smith on Saturday. Some great shots.

Broadcasting: moved from You Tube to Live Golf Plus App for free viewing. It is televised in 20 countries now inc via Claro in Mexico.

Go again: I would. My wife preferred the experience here to The Open at Carnoustie. More the weather and backing her team than prestige obviously. I do think theres more for fans to do when you include the free concert in the evening and interactive games.

I thought it would have happened this year but I expect the Trump International (Aberdeen) to get its foot into the pro game via LIV in the coming seasons.

I think there are three Trump owned courses on the calendar this season. With some decent pricing and a sensibly timed slot, it would attract the crowds.

There will be a host of new big names added so the series is only going to snowball going forward.

Either Liv Golf haven't offered her enough money or she just doesn't like their sport washing but she still has the twitter handle that they would probably like.

Quite funny that defending champion Cam Smith can’t play in the Players Championship and actually lives on the course, and had his honorary membership revoked. All a bit petty and childish really but he started it 😝

Did I catch that right and did he just confuse the word precedent with President? Of course the President's Cup doesn't have a cut, it's a bloody match!!! He comes across as a right prick!!

Scheffler has the mental side of the game nailed just now. Goes out if it's a club weekend medal and doesn't look flustered.

The Masters is going to be some event this year.

Firstly, what a great name for an intended golf course "Coul Links" near Embo.

Ramblers "Extremely Concerned" by revived plans for golf course...

Why should their rambling be stress free...get some clubs in their hands.:)

Bit of a shame if it has, I used to like picking up a copy for my train journey down south.

Anyone played the Merchants?  What's it like?

Very short and very hilly. a number  of the holes with small square greens cut into the hillside.

When firm can be very difficult as you need to allow massively for the slopes.

Some brilliant views, and a couple of nice holes. I remember a par 3 played from the top of a hill to a green way below.

Helps if you have one leg shorter than the other

I know one of the original directors of Bunkered. They sold out to DC Thomson a few years ago>

He obviously got out at the right time.

Somebody else mentioned the event at Ingliston. I know in his time they dropped it as it was never as well attended as SEC.

DC Thomson must have revived it, albeit briefly it seems.

Contemplating enering an Open at Murrayshall, Perth.

Has it not been closed down for a while?

Any info on it from those that have played it.

Are you thinking of the Lyndoch course? They done away with the holes from the higher ground and retained 10 of them. 2 to 9 was played in a loop of two and 1 and 18 were kept. A shame as there were some great homes up the hill.

The bigger course was certainly open last year but not heard anything about it bei G closed ( unless it was for the winter for protection or maintenance).

Think it was closed for a spell during covid Tommy

Played it a number of years ago, fairly typical parkland course with a few ups and downs.

Well positioned trees or maybe i was having a bad day🙁

Holes that stuck in the mind were a 90degree par 5, a nice short par four with a pond in front,

and the first hole a bit of a slog up the hill.

Worth a visit if they have got it back into good nick.

Enjoy if you go.

nb There were two courses from memory, I have only played the longer one.

Anyone have one length clubs? Thinking of buying Ricky Fowler Cobra irons. And they have the one length option. Just looking for some info.

You'll know one pro golfer (fud) that uses them, that should be the only info you need...

I use to have the F8 ones lengths. Good clubs but don't see how they would benefit a better player.
