Should have enough to get a win, more concerned that whoever the squad is, we get through without any injuries as that's all Utd are good for plus it's not a great ref for us either.

Is any ref good for us!?

He doesn't seem the worst, he'd have to be atrocious to get that label, tbf

United will be scrapping & fighting position they are in, won’t be easy & we have to show a lot more desire than Wednesday

Agreed. Hopefully the players are in the mood to start positively and hit them hard.

                          Clark

        Smith Sibbick Rowles Cochrane

                   Devlin   Snodgrass

         Ginnelly    Grant      McKay

                       Shankland

Fed up with the 3-4-3, the complete lack of midfield is the reason why a lot of our performances overall are poor.

I’d be bold and bench the likes of Kingsley and Hill, rather than shuffle to accommodate them.

Not strictly two holding mids as Devlin will wander to hunt down the ball. Gives Grant a fair shot in his natural position, and him occupying that space should see space open up elsewhere for McKay.

Finally you’ve got less need for Shankland to be dropping into his own half all the time. 20 goal striker this season get him up top for **** sake!

If any of those are not fit then replace with players who can play in their positions

This for me. Grant or Halliday in for Devlin if he can’t go.

Reading Robbie's comments this morning I think Grant might start tomorrow. If not him then Halliday will be back. I'd doubt Devlin will be available.

Halliday back in will be a boost, actually think our best performances he has played and not Devlin

And no doubt he will try to shoehorn his wee buddy McKay into the team.

His wee buddy? Terrible patter.

I think Kio will start if Devlin is not fit, appears to be doing a bit of media and he did pretty well when he came on against Rangers. Think 4 positions are up for debate

Clark

Smith/Natty   Hill Sibbick Rowles Cochrane/Kingsley

Snodgrass Devlin/Kio

Gino Shankland McKay/Kuol

Clarke

Sibbick Rowles Hill

Smith Cochrane

Snodgrass Devlin/Kio

Gino Shanks Humps

That would be my team. McKay has to be shelved and I'd like to see more of that front 3 together.

McKay has done well against them over the years and still is our best man for breaking lines with craft

Dundee United kicked and booted us of the park in the last game at tannadice.

Hopefully the officials protect our players from them this game.

United were nothing but disgusting thugs last time.

I really hope it is them that get relegated.

Next three league games

Dundee Utd (h)

Motherwell (a)

St Johnstone (h)

Maximum points required

We've done okay. 3rd clearly. But also lots to improve. We're still vulnerable in most games to other teams attacks though more solid defensively.

It is time to kick on. Front foot attack is better this season so hopefully do it tomorrow.

Can we finally see a starting front 3 of Gino Shankland and Humphrys?

And just keep Shankland through the middle, in the box and use the pace of the other 2 out wide.

Please.

What I'd like to see that too. I'd also prefer 433 but I guess there's very little chance of that.

Too orthodox.

Just flip it for:

                     Gordon CF

Rowles LW   Halkett AM  Cochrane RW

                 Shankland  DM

Smith LB   Sibbick CH Hill CH  Atkinson RB

                   Mackay GK

It's so crazy, it might just work.

This.

Play players in their position and that should be our front three tomorrow if all fit.

Not sure why the 4 in the 3-4-3 has to have 2 fullbacks. It effectively makes it a back 5. With 3 at the back it still allows one of the 3 to step forward when needed. We should play Grant or Keo and one of them is slightly wider than the other 2

I know it's popular but I don't see that front three working tbh. Humphrys and Gino will want to run in behind, which means you'll probably see Shankland dropping deeper, similar to the Livi game where Humphrys and Oda/Kuol played.

If they both play out wide then I'd say neither are in their best position and pace out wide isn't necessarily that effective at home to a team who'll likely be defending deep.

I know McKay hasn't been as good as last season but this is his kind of game in the same way Wednesday very much wasn't (I also don't think he was nearly as bad as has been made out). If he is benched I'd probably have Grant in.

Agreed, 100%.

Especially the insults directed at Bazza, mind boggling.

You should have been here in December and January when many thought we performed quite well.

Drylaw Hearts

I’d be stunned if Shankland is moved from his No.10 role….he’s played it very well. He just can’t allow himself to drift too deep.

I’d start Kuol and give the lad the opportunity to show us what he is really capable of as he cannot be judged on Wednesdays performance.

Loving this. Jill has been excellent in the 2 games he played his position. Humps instead of McKay 👍
