Lesbian

Gay

Bi-Sexual

Transgender

Queer/questioning

I alway thought the "Q" stood for Questioning, "Queer" would be covered by Gay and Lesbian? Although I do understand that the Queer tag is offensive to some.

I’ve heard both referenced as the “Q”.

I also though that the word ‘queer’ was pretty offensive and usually used in a derogatory manner.

It is offensive but it’s been “ reclaimed “ by some of the mire militant younger crowd in Stonewall etc . Irrespective of how it is still a reminder to older gay men of how offensive it is

Would you consider ‘queer’ the UK equivalent of ‘Fag*ot’?

I think the latter is more of an American term isn’t it?

Cheers. That’s why I always thought the “Q” meaning ‘queer’ was strange.

What a scene to make in a classroom full of young children.

https://uk.news.yahoo.com/protesters-storm-first-drag-queen-170323530.html

The first drag queen “story hour” for children in a UK-wide tour of council libraries has descended into chaos after it was stormed by protesters.

Almost 70 events in 20 areas of Britain are being visited over the next two months by Drag Queen Story Hour UK, a group that hosts sessions for three to 11-year-olds.

The project is run by Sab Samuel, a 27-year-old autistic male children’s author, who performs as Aida H Dee in a sequined dress with heavy make-up.

But the first event for families at Reading Borough Council libraries erupted in a dramatic row, as Mr Samuel was given a police escort next to a riot van and demonstrators chanted “paedophile”.

However you feel about drag queens being hired to tell stories to children (I find it bizarre personally), storming a classroom full of children, chanting paedophile, screaming abuse at other parents and ending up with the riot police being called out to the school is 100% not the way to go about arguing your case against them.

Is there any even any basis for the paedophile claims above? It seems a bit of a stretch to assume someone is a nonce because they are reading stories to kids while in drag.

I don’t think it’s appropriate to have adult performers in highly sexualised clothing , reading those stories to kids . What’s the actual point ? It’s again conflating gays as drags queens , that we all gust dress up , we want to be women , we are feminine . All harmful stereotyping really . There have been some time story queens done for possessing child porn etc . However it’s no doubt exaggerated a bit but it still happens ,

Not sure as it’s been proven that the gender ideology politics have limited appeal to most voters . However it should be . It’s about womens sex based rights but SNP are still insisting in legislating the GRA Despite widespread disapproval and condemnation

I don’t have an issue with drag queens per sa , in the right environment and context . I love “ rupaul drag race “ and the contestants on it mainly do

Don’t “ identify “ as female . They are drag queens however I can Also

acknowledge criticism of it as it does portray a hyper sexualised version of a

“ female “ however they are men

Well done Alison . Another nail in stonewalls coffin hopefully

basically people are allowed to have Their own gender critical views in a work place and not face the sack . It’s a victory for free speech

Hyper sexualised? As in, they're presenting themselves as sexual objects to these children? That's not how I saw it at all, it came across as more pantomime dame than anything else I thought.

What about pantomimes and Widow Twanky The irrepressible Lily Savage.

i was never comfortable taking my kids to pantos as there were to many double entendre which were obviously for the adults but still felt not for my kids.

Drag queens tend to wear sexualised clothing , high heels , fishnets , basques , fake boobs , padded bras and buns and around the waist to accentuate a

” womens “ curves . Panto dames dress nowt like that really

Absolute clown of a guy. Happy  to see womens Rights go down the drain but happy to strut  into the stadium under a supposed “ equality “ flag . Also used a hand maid as a surrogate . Total misogynist .

I've had a quick Google and can find no evidence of the person referenced in the article you posted (Sab Samuel) having any convictions for child abuse or anything else. It just seems to be a case of throwing shit at a wall and seeing what sticks.

It's eye opening how many people seem to think some drag queen has any place whatsoever in a primary school.

Nutters.

I pulled my son out of school for a week a few years ago when this charade was going round Scottish schools. Gave them both barrels, its the same with the MAP nonsense no considerstion taken for the victims of the crimes and they try to force the ideology onto you by making you look like a bigot. Their way or the highway won't get anyone with morals on board.
