Hmm. Your posts don't really reflect that he couldn't get near a game latterly in Belgium and he got a combined 30 minutes when he was on loan in Portugal. He's done well in the K League but I'm not sure how the standard compares. There's got to be a question mark over whether he's suited to Europe either way given that he's been frozen out and released by every club he's played for here.

Not commenting on whether he'd be a good signing or not, or whether we should be more or less excited about him than about Davenport. Just adding some balance.

Well, I have my reasons. For me, the 11 caps for South Korea are enough to be honest. They’re a quality side. Add onto that he’s playing well for his current club, in a league that I personally can’t compare as I haven’t watched it, but I know it has many exports to big clubs across Europe, far more than our league does. I also said there’s things to be cautious about, and it wasn’t a slight on Davenport to say that Seung-woo is a more exciting prospect, it’s just there’s more information about him than Davenport. As you’ve shown by the information you just garnered. :)

Reading the article post earlier in Korean (using google Translate) its quite confusing what the situation is. The talk of offering him a 3 year contract suggests he is free to leave the club, but the article talks about the club will be reluctant to release him mid-season. So I wont take this as a foregone conclusion (I am wary after Ogashiwa in January.)

Also is surreal to just see an account on twitter I follow who is specialises in the academy of Barcelona, quote tweet Barry Anderson talking about this (and being pleased to see him back in Europe.)

Who's turn is it to watch the airport???

Was sent off in his last game, which would explain why he didn’t play in that match. Not to piss on the fire or anything.

Interesting one, he was one of the reasons that Barca got a transfer ban for breaking signing players from other countries under the age of 18.

The fact its talking about us offering him a 3 year contract sounds like we are not required to pay a fee. Also saw someone who reports on the Korean league reply to HMFC France that he would be a bit stupid to move as he has only just got a great run of form after 3 months.

He also was part of the Asian Games team that won in 2018 which got them exemption from national service.

Maybe had a release clause for clubs in European competition or something? That would mean we can express intent to pay to discuss terms.

But that goal?!? Something to get excited about right there!

Got to imagine one of GMS or Gino might be moving on if LSW signs.

Looks an interesting one.

I'm still hoping for Conor Ronan although that seems to have gone quiet.

Lord Beni of Gorgie

Original article posted tonight has 31 March all over it.

Perhaps an agreement made to release at August

Oh, an exotically named attacker with international caps and Serie A on his CV is always going to be more exciting than some jobber defensive midfielder from the Championship.  Reasonable to ask whether it comes from a rational place, though.

He looks shit hot from the clips on YouTube and Twitter, but less so digging into his transfermarkt page. I'll 100% buy into the excitement if we sign him but he's got slight "Korean Donis Avdijaj" vibes for me.

It says "31st of last month" (i.e. yesterday) on my translation.

Experience playing in europe, a real talent who’s young and lost his way a little looking to push back up the way. Exactly the type of player we aim for, the recruitment levels at the club have seriously went up a level under savage

All roads lead to Gorgie

Signing from Korea or Japan makes sense commercially as well. As long as they are good that is!

No idea who the poster is or whether they’re reputable or not. Was searching the words ‘hearts’ and ‘Europe’ to see the list of our possible opponents and this popped up.

Okay look. We’ve all had a laugh at BA possibly picking up stories from here and running them but this is blatant since our poster seems to have discovered it completely by accident.

Surely BA has an ounce of journalistic integrity and he’s not just copied and pasted this without making at least one phone call to a club source. A source he will undoubtedly have. Even if the source doesn’t confirm it, surely if it’s shite, the source tells BA not to waste time on it ?

Or am I over estimating BA’s integrity

Hopefully Paulo is on the blower to him.

Hopefully long term JKB legend AhnJung Hwan gives him some good advice on Tynecastle life too.

That'll probably only make sense to Kickbackers from the Vlad era. 😁

Didn’t really do a lot after his link with us. Couple of clubs in Europe where he hardly played and eventually went back home. Pretty sure he played at ER in a World Cup warm up game I was at.

One of the two world cup stars we were "promised". Apparently. 🤣

Did we ever find out who the other was? Funny times back then.

I like the look of the Korean lad. He looks quick and talented.

He wouldn’t be posting anything that he hasn’t had confirmed to have truth in it by someone at the club

Yeh that’s my thinking. He can’t surely just be copying and pasting shite rumours without testing them. His editor would run him out of town if that’s the sum total of his journalistic work. Hes maybe seen it here first but He’s got to have had it on a nod and a wink from somebody else before he’s published it……… surely ?

I wonder if our old friend Paulo has his fingerprints on this somewhere?

Pre-split starts in the league:

Baningime - 23

Devlin - 22

Haring - 15

Devlin and Baningime were the first picks when fit. There were probably only a couple of games where neither started prior to wrapping up 3rd. Those two made the key difference to our midfield last season in my opinion.

As I said, I like Haring and he offers something different, but there's a reason he's third choice and that's because Neilson prefers having the energy of Devlin and Baningime. If you do play Haring, you need someone with legs alongside him.

Haring played in far more than 15 games though. Starts don't show the full picture, as you're missing games where he had a key impact like Celtic on the opening day and Livingston away when he replaced Woodburn in the first half.

You also can't discount cup games as they were a major part of our seasons success, and Haring was influential down that stretch.

My point is that besides that period in the first half of the season, how many times did Beni and Devlin actually play together? Their injuries suspensions ended up overlapping a lot as the season went on and Haring was the constant factor pairing with either Devlin when Beni was injured or playing alongside Beni when Devlin was suspended.

Yes he needs legs beside him but he's more than just a squad filler. Was a top top player for us last season and his consistency was up there with Gordon, Kingsley and Halkett.

Think it was Ongjen Koroman from Terek Grozny, he played for Serbia at the World Cup. We tried to sign him in January '07 but ended up with Kingston from the same club instead.

I vaguely remember us being linked with a Czech player around 06/07 too but not sure who that was. Plasil possibly but he was a regular at Monaco at the time so probably not.

Yes defo 😁 joe oot bob oot all oot, the so called upgrade in quality we were promised in May and head start on rivals we had once we clinched 3rd hasn't materialised we lack pace and drive at times. Midfield of Smith and Haring jeez it wasn't Stoke Res this week, thats bad state of affairs plus to many mixed messages between him and Bob. Joe we are looking to bring in an attacking midfielder centre back and pacy striker I want to challenge for league, Bob we are looking at another holding player and (centre back better than wright) then not bothered about centre back and attacking player we will rotate and hope to get top 4 again. Be nice to get midfielder with drive from midfield or with energy who then has a dig when we bring in someone who we are told are supposed to do this such as lee and mceneff 🤣🤣🤣 and various others we move them wide or play them too deep. We don't score enough goals from midfield and we need a physical striker in this league most teams have one in their team preferably with a bit pace too. I think fact Bob is here for next 3 years there is no way Budge or board will sack oor Bob even if we were struggling, Joe will end up back with Alex Neil at some stage unless he gets sacked at Mackems before then. As he states I recommend players its then up to Robert and board next. Utd looked decent today and Ross has brought in some good signings levitt is a steal, Sheep brag they are now worldbeaters and we have deluded bunch saying they ll be 3rd we defo need more bodies in asap or Joe oot 😂😂🙈🍻. 50 years of following famous same story when have decent season we lose players promise world and quality upgrades and have mediocre follow up due to europe as squads too small but we dont push on it never happens often other teams get wise we won't push boat out they splash dosh and we end up mid table below the rival teams. How many seasons is it now we seem to need new strikers every year and im sure if we had got Simms with Shankland, Boyce would have been punted no smoke without fire. Has anyone saw this invisible striker Bob mentioned other day Henderson recently or headless chicken Gino. Anyway FTH we won but need to improve asap. The prob Bob has is that unless he starts to win at Easter Road which he hasn't done yet or win a major trophy which I can't see ever happening hes too negative to go for it, fanbase is split. 3rd place cup final and folk still not fully behind him. A few bad results and phoodle out will start again. Hes a steady manager but wd any other manager have got even more out of the squad in last year again who knows. Lets blame Joe. 😄

Good.

Tough one, while searching last night on twitter I saw mention of the above picture where a pupil from that school dressed up as him and Lee met him, though dont know if it was at the game yesterday. So my thoughts are either he is saying thanks and great memories over this event, or saying bye to K-League.

He was a fast machine, He kept his motor clean
He was the best damn Korean that I ever seen
He had the goal scoring eyes, loved kebab pies
Knocking me out with those magnificent highs
Taking more than his share, had me fighting for air
He told me to come, but I was already there

'Cause Tynie starts shaking, the Earth was quaking
My mind was aching and we were making it

And WOO shook me all night long
Yeah,  WOO shook me all night long
