Any Hearts fan that says no to Cummings need their head looked, a proven goal scorer at our level, hearts daft and a real character which is something new have been lacking in and most importantly someone with a huge point to prove

But only proven at the level we hope to be at for a year. He hasn't scored goals anywhere else, in any other league.

He does feel like a good match for both parties, Cummings would thrive with the limelight, we would be rewarded with goals. I read a post yesterday about how our 'nice guys' won't get on with him, the reason we were bottom of the table is because we had too many 'nice guys'.

He got a double against the best team in the world last season 😂

Hungry hippo

His goalscoring record at Scottish Championship level is excellent. Not done much at a higher level but I'd take lots of goals this season as a good starting point.

He also likes a goal in the Scottish Cup which could be handy.

We have to get out of the championship and scoring goals is the only way to do that

Could be his last chance to get his career on track.

Very good player Cummings , a nippy and excellent striker who has a knack of putting the ball in the net. He'd be a cracking  signing right now and a bit more good news

Linked every transfer window since he left Hibs.....

Been in alleged talks with us many times...

I won't hold my breath on this one.

And I'm 100% in the no camp for him anyway. Don't want him anywhere near the club

I would be delighted if we sign Cummings. He is exactly the type of player and character we have been lacking for years.

He was and he did have.

He's been dire for about 4 or 5 years. He'd be the first player, apart from Damour I'd hope we get shot of.

Jamie Walker is 27 now, I've lost count of the number of players who peak in their early 20's and  never get back the pace and attitude that got them there in the first place. Injuries  are often involved, as with Jamie. He should still be a good player in the Championship though.

i don’t think they will

cummings was at hibs and his job was to score as many goals for hibs as possible and help them win amongst other things their first Scottish cup in over 100 years - that’s what he did - like all the other hibs players in that squad will be remembered by hibs fans for ever - he clearly enjoyed playing against hearts given he felt rightly or wrongly he had been treated poorly at hearts

”phoodle” well his job in this context was not to become the first hearts manager in over 100 years to let hibs win their holy grail - I say let in that it wasn’t like we didn’t have a chance or two to stop it but unfortunately “phoodle” wasn’t up to it - although we did win a meaningless 3 points in a “massive” game at Ross county recently after to make up for it

i don’t know if not rating neilson in the slightest qualifies for being in the “phoodle gang” but I’d be happy with Cummings signing assuming it was reasonable wages etc

:)

Drug test him every Monday and I wouldn't mind him for the championship. Needs to prove himself big time both on and off the field.

Is Cummings a bit of a tit? Yes.

Is he a decent player? Yes.

Will he score goals? Yes.

Will he score more goals than the likes of Washington, Uche and Wighton? Yes.

Does he have something to prove? Yes.

I can put up with the first if he delivered on the pitch.

Can't see it, not out of contract till 2021.

We had players contracted as well but we got rid of them.  Could be the same deal for Jason, they might want rid of him.

Just about cumdogging in your pants at the prospect of getting your Hearts/Hibs half and half scarf out the cupboard. 😳

Maybe a loan deal with a view to permanent signing if he does well.

Has he been training with anyone because I imagine him to be a fat unless junkie like some other past Hibs strikers.

Still with Shrewsbury scored in a friendly this week for them

Not scored since he left Hibs.

that won’t matter if we ever get championship played.

As for his character. Are we in a position to worry?

It’s a ‘Meh’ from me.

Unless Naismith is going to play more of a midfield role, then the two first choice forward spaces are already filled so anyone coming in needs to either offer something different like a big target man or they will be an off the bench type player so signing someone with a proven record in the championship doesn't seem like that big a priority. Someone with development potential might be a better fit.

Footballers are so boring there days god forbid a player like Cummings has a bit of personality. He wont be a lot of money, he has a great record at this level, is a hearts fan and it will be very pleasing to see the Hibs seethe. Should deffo sign

No way that can be true. Are you on the wind up? He's on a contract and we are cutting back on the wage bill.

The “phoodle gang” need to cuddle ma humpf!

A bunch of adolescent arseholes.

Cummings is a wee shit but he would be our wee shit and he knows where the onion bag is!

Was Lafferty loved by the Jambos when he played at Ibrox? Or Naismith for that matter?

With Naismith's injury record we need to have adequate cover. I don't really see Wighton in that role although he might do a job at that level but we need someone who is lively and a bit aggressive which Cummings certainly is.

You're right that injuries are a consideration with Naismith though I'm still not keen on the idea of signing someone who "would score for fun" in the championship but has struggled in the top flight, it would be like a more expensive James Keatings. Especially when Boyce should score for fun even more so. Maybe it's a means to an end though as the type of player who we would want longer term won't want to come to the championship especially in its shambolic state this year. However, a different type of player would complement the squad more.
