Sturgeon has shat it and lifted the quarantine restrictions against Spain.

What was even the point in doing it for a fortnight

But she's not playing a political game :Aye:

You alright?

That's twice you've mentioned God, don't tell me you've turned all religious now.

Coronavirus: Protein treatment trial 'a breakthrough' https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-53467022

Good news this morning.

Great news and even better it's a UK university to make the breakthrough first meaning UK citizens will be first in line.

I've booked up to go to Lanzarote again in February. It was too good a deal and worth the gamble.

Hopefully a couple of working vaccines and treatments by then and Covid will be a distant memory

Unless your a health worker or an at risk group i.e immune issues the chances of getting a jab by February is highly unlikely.

the initial doses are reserved and therefore the masses won’t get until later next year

still good news  - we all just need to be patient now

The data coming out on T-cells is well worth looking into. More and more experts talking it up, more countries testing. Will be good things to come of this!

My point is why say masks are necessary now and Dr Hilary gave reasons why they could cause more harm than good, and why  not necessary when the pandemic was at its height

There is more chance now of catching something from people wearing masks just watch

Some shoppers Take Them out  their pockets or bags to apply before entering the shops and then doing the reverse and onwards to next shop or pub/restaurant

I think there are legitimate questions over the changing views on masks and a debate to be had there.

The evidence isn't universal for masks but it does appear to have shifted in favour as more analysis and real life data available. I have found the Lancet broadly in favour (a heavy going read mind you) but this article I thought was a decent summary of why advice has changed.

I think the main thrust is that a mask won't necessarily greatly reduce your chances of getting covid but will reduce significantly the chances of you passing on, if you do.

It's quite simple.

Wearing a mask was always a good idea.

But when we were in full lockdown and were not mixing with people on a regular basis, their effect would be minimal.

Now we're getting back out to work, shops are open and we're mixing in public again, wearing a mask provides an extra layer of safety.

That's why mask wearing has gone from "good idea" to "strongly recommended" to "mandatory".

Plus there was a shortage of face-masks earlier on in the pandemic. Last thing they wanted was folk ‘acquiring’ masks meant for frontline staff.

Why? Scotland won't need it, cause the FM has exercised the demon. Vaccine for less lucky nations like England. 👍

The saviours have saved Scotland again! And when we get control of our country and border back from our hapless overlords, no one will die from the next virus. 👍

You are welcome to move to England if you want to catch Covid 20/21. 👍 No mask required.

Not bothered to include graphs from all the states with cases and deaths on the rise, I see. Kind of blows their theory out the water.

Medical grade ones yes, but a simple home-made fabric one will do the job for normal folks going down the shops or sitting on a bus

Thing is, a vaccine will not be required unless you are in the category that already gets the flu vaccine. The majority testing positive just now (ages 19 - 50) is exactly who you want to be testing positive.

Yeah, depending on what you deem as worse and who you choose to listen to. Also given the current political climate in the US, I wouldn't believe a word of anything that comes out of there.

As i said, there is major politics playing a part in the US. Rising cases, not so much rising deaths. The right people are those testing positive, Asymptomatics, the young and the healthy. Could this be the way of gaining herd immunity?

Concentrate on UK, very positive few days and once PHE England sort out their figures and knock the thousands of deaths labelled as covid off their actual figures, things will start to look better.

Daily deaths are rising in the USA, not petering out as seen in countries that enforced proper lockdowns.

'No people' are the 'right people'. You don't want anyone catching this.

People are recatching it for a 2nd time, herd immunity is not an option.

You need to stop watching SkyNews, Good Morning Britain and reading the daily newspapers. If you are fit, healthy and under the age of 60 get out and get on with your life.

If the figures in those graphs are correct then it should be the only graph worth looking at.

Appears IMO whole thing has been a scam from the get go.
