I flew from Edinburgh on Friday, barely a mask in sight.

I never wore mine at medical appointment and the person I was seeing asked me if I was exempt (surprised she asked ) I said I wasn’t as such , but self exempt as they impact on my breathing and are “ uncomfortable “ she was fine about it . There is no real

diktat in the nhs about compulsory wearing of them

Has anyone else heard about this disturbing "Pandemic Treaty" that will hand power to the WHO for any future pandemics. Surely the UK cannot sign up to this.

It appears we're signing up to it. As are all the major western countries.

So you just automatically think it's good news with no reasoning behind your decision making? :interehjrling:

Having read this link, I think it's more about prevention, vaccines and medicines rather than telling us when to lockdown etc

An international treaty on pandemic prevention and preparedness - Consilium (europa.eu)

Not sure it'll really matter who issues the diktats, most folks surely now realise Covid was just another tool to make certain people money and won't listen in future.

Which is a shame as whatever comes in the future may be a genuine threat to our existence. The WHO didn't exactly cover themselves in 'preparedness' glory with their mask u-turn so not sure why they'd be worth listening to particularly.

I didn't realise I needed to give a detailed explanation for every comment. Where was your rationale  for being against it?

The first thing the treaty should agree to is to BAN gain of function research.

I was following fauci being taken to task over NIH funding the gain of function research in wuhan and similar research being done in America with a deadlier virus but they kept going round in circles over the definition of “gain of function” but it would be great if WHO could define and put a ban on it.

Mask wearers....

You're still wearing it as a selfless act of consideration towards others, aye?

You are concerned you may have the covid and don't wish to pass it on to others, aye?

Then stay home.

So, cancel my Italian viaggio this weekend ?

Do you not agree with mask wearing? You've not mentioned it before.

It's as if the poor wee anti maskers / vaxxers are really missing the pandemic. Still dipping in here to have a go at anyone who will listen to their inane ramblings. Meanwhile, everyone else just getting on with their lives.

I think they'd secretly love a return to restrictions / masks, so they can get back to crying about it daily.

Why stay home when you can easily just wear a mask, reducing the risk for your fellow man, irritating just the right type, and go on with your day as normal?

A few dementors who didn't look at them assumed the worst.

N.Korea.

The first thing they need is a giant amount of a working vaccine.  Sinovax need not apply.

Unfortunately they do tend to crossover hence why people attend these kind of things...

I can not believe that 2 years + and North Korea are only getting hit now.

The situation in North Korea is likely to be so bad that they can't deny it any longer, also whatever the figures the North Koreans are saying I'd x that by at least 5 maybe x10 maybe more.

An image released by state media shows officials - all wearing face masks - meeting Kim Jong-un to discuss Covid-19

Kim Jong-un decides not to wear a mask, quoting JKB refuseniks that masks don't work.

Nah, he clearly does believe in the protective nature of indoor mask wearing. So everyone else but him wears one for his protection.

Considering he's allegedly had heart issues and was seen propped up by 2 flanking generals at a military parade not that long ago, I'm surprised he's not made them sit half a mile away like ol' Putin did (before he took umbrage and swapped out the world's biggest table for the smallest one) as he's clearly at risk.

There's still weirdos wandering the streets with their wee soggy masks on. These are the ones you should be worried about.

I'd be more worried about your behaviour, posting your obsessions about what other people do that doesn't affect you in any way.

Dentist I passed seemed to be enforcing it.

Dentists were even more mental than GP surgeries regarding masks and or any services either.   It is not mandatory in NHS places. My consultant even said as much when i was at an appointment last month.

I expected some dramatics when i went to the GP surgery sans mask.

Nowt.  BOOO hooo  :)

There isn't even any signs up regarding masks and I also noticed that you don't even have to ring the door to gain entry into the surgery. One guy sitting waiting to be seen sans mask too.

So all good.
