Has anyone who has had Covid lost their sense of smell/taste?

Any idea when i can expect it back?

One guy on this still has lost both and that’s been since July last year ! I think that’s quite unusual though . I had it in Jan and was fine

I thought you were concerned about those "hopeless travel vaccine passports".

Are you telling us that your concern is about something that is none of your business and has zero impact on you?

I wasn’t “ concerned “ about them , I’m concerned about poverty , global warming , genocide in Palestine and Syria , the fuel crisis ( for those poor skint people ) , dodgey politicians , etc etc . I just would like them removed ( the vaccine travel passports. )

One of my brother's mates lost his for over 8 weeks.

One of my own mates lost his for around 4 weeks.

Most people I know who have had it recently haven't experienced this at all though. Very weird how it affects people so differently.

Has the loss of smell/taste been a symptom of any other coronavirus type bug or is it unique to covid 19?

You can get it with any respiratory infection.

In certain indoor areas  it has been mandatory unless you are exempt.

Face coverings, not masks.

Worth noting that the 8 weeks guy was pre-vaccines and the 4 weeks guy was pre-booster (3rd) shot.

It would be very bad luck if it took that long for you (assuming you are fully boostered up)

Both me and the wife have tested positive just now, we both thought we had a cold, I tested negative a couple of days ago, our is son negative however.

Just mild cold symptoms for me, no sore head or loss of smell, the wife has slightly heavier cold symptoms with no headaches or loss of smell. We're both tripple jabbed.

Last day of the masks tomorrow.

i sacked them months ago.

They're pointless now that Omicron has come along.

The cold is more severe than Covid since the vaccine roll out

Did she not say that the last time too

No, last time she said "I can't remember" or "I can't recall" or "not to my knowledge".

Why do you care. You didn’t follow them anyway.

Those who are most vociferous about those not wearing masks are those who refuse to wear them anyway.

Some see some equivalence with BoJo's party goings on.  I couldn't give a toss about the parties. It's the constant lying or false justification for them that is so wrong.

Had BoJo just 'fessed up about them and apologised when they first came into the public domain at the end of last year, they would all be forgotten about by now.

I followed them for long enough like most people, then they started getting used for political purposes

I'm sure the can't remember episode was to do with the fat Salmond court case

Maybe she's just following the science?

Or perhaps hypocrisy is the new normal?

Her actions are a real slap in the face to all those that complied with the restrictions/mitigations.

Exactly.

Aye seen that but don't think anything will be done, if only she just put on a sunflower lanyard and played the exempt card save us from the carry on.

Nowt will be done but she will be embarrassed and shown up for the hypocrite she is. Thats good enough for me

As we move away from the silly masks, I hope those workers who have had to endure them for almost two years are feeling happy about heading into work without having to restrict their breathing.

Quite the opposite.  Public transport is full of selfish sick people who don't care who they pass on whatever they are carrying.

E

We have been excused masks for a while now, I notice in the Mall there are people still wearing their masks. I don't wear a mask, I have minimal contact with people but I always carry a mask now. I took my car in to get the snow tires removed and I noticed all the staff were wearing masks, I asked and they said there were still people who believe strongly in them so they when I got in the waiting room there were about six people, two wearing masks, I just thought it really doesn't bother me, the people who are not wearing masks are fine but if bare faces annoy or cause fear in the two with masks I'll just wear mine as long as they are here.
