In the long run, perhaps. But if cases rise at the rate that has been forecast, hospitals could collapse in the short term leading to unnecessary deaths and suffering. So it isn't straight forward at all.

testing/quarantine instructions down here changed 3 times in about a week... it is, imo, difficult to keep up. Remember by definition those posting on here are plugged in and interested, pretty clear from the questions at work that most are confused (down here) with regard to what they must do when pinged/testing positive. We also have BoJo saying one thing and Witty leaning in the other direction.

She did mention hospital numbers rising sharply in London though and the information I looked at doesn't seem to back that up, rising yes as it would with an increase in cases but it is rising slowly so far.

 

It is likely that we are going to have some sort of wave here but it will probably not be as bad as they are saying right now it is going to be, hopefully it is a lot less so and over quickly.
