Glottis
It's easy to say self employed don't declare all their earnings but loads of people are "self employed" so that their actual employers don't have responsibility.
Don Dan
It's unfortunate but sometimes you can't always keep the promises you make. Especially when keeping them is to the detriment of others. In this case removing the disparity in NI and making everyone pay the same makes total sense. The government (all governments) need to clamp down hard on tax evasion. Rarely has any government made any meaningful attempt to clamp down.

deesidejambo
I'm not questioning your interest in seeing a proper social system being funded, I would question you getting behind a SNP policy, especially one proposed through additional taxation. Why? I am interested in the principle. Which party introduces it is irrelevant to me. And also note I previously posted that I'm happy to vote for SNP to represent me at Westminster as the MP Calum Mcaig, is doing a good job. I couldn't care less if every MP at Westminster is SNP as long as they do what they were elected for, to represent their Constituencies It's Indy that I object to. deesidejambo
Fair enough, I stand corrected. Had you pinned with the 'anyone but the SNP at all costs' crowd. Nae probs. Interestingly it's possibly not in the SNPs interest to do well at Westminster because peeps like me may be happy for SNP to represent them at Westminster and if they do that well then less reason to go for Indy. This is why imo the SNP get higher voter share in elections when compared to the Indy percentage. Imo
