Cheers for posting this.

The family I had that lived in Dunbar's Close in the Canongate, lived in Greenside first, probably in one of these very buildings.

Amazing - who'd have thought that hundreds of trees were lurking behind these expensive 4-storey residences !!

Yes we used to play the grand national game. Basically a mob used to run from the top of the one of the gardens to the ones at the bottom of a block.

involved climbing over high walls , jumping through bushes , being chased by dogs. What a laugh 😂

Now that's brought back memories 😂

Ours used to start with someone saying "let's go for a run..... garden run!" and then all hell broke loose.

Good pic, I've not seen that one before. Ex Caley Goods Station on Lothian Road. Any idea which year the pic was taken?

The old Santander next to Sainsburys at the bottom of Morningside Road is getting gutted.

Walked past it today. An old baker's sign was exposed.

Would be good if that's left in sight one the renovations are complete. There is a few round Edinburgh where that's been done

I agree.

There’s an old Bootmakers sign on a shop in Colinton Village.

Interesting.  Do you have a link to where you can see these old PO directories ?  Are they the forerunner of the Phone Book ?
