Spurs May have delays as well

Tottenham may look to play opening games of next season at Wembley

My wifes cousin is directly involved in Surps new pitch. He was talking about some technical stuff to me at Christmas, something to do with the pitch having the ability to change height  to accommodate  American football  games being played on it.A sort of two tier  pitch for both  UK soccer  and US football   He is a senior  civil engineer by profession .

It’s a sliding pitch they have, one underneath the football pitch for American football and whatever, looks pretty smart, I seen it on something yesterday possibly sky sports news.

In an astounding turn of events Greenwhinger over the road has switched from "they aren't building a new stand" to " they aren't building a TV studio". I'll update further when he releases more critical info.

Hopefully he can provide further technical info into the adjacent collapsing tenements.

Abramovich cancels his £1billion Stamford Bridge upgrade plans due to the ongoing UK visa problems.

The UK refused him a work visa, so last week he applied for Israeli citizenship (no, I have no idea why either).

UK govt then said that would have no effect on his work visa status.

So now he's cancelled his new stadium plans.

He is Jewish so obvious place to take out citizenship. He is building a large house inTel Aviv, has numerous business interests there. Israel has visa-waiver agreements in place with most of the western world countries so he can move about freely even into and out of the UK. Just can't work here. Stadium cancellation is just a huffy  gesture.

It's good to have confirmation that we are building a TV studio!

We've already sacked one architect. This could get a bit Holy Grail... The people responsible for sacking the architect have been sacked.  Expect lots of llama references soon!

The Treasurer

The Spurs sliding pitch idea was similar to the original plans for the London Stadium, along with retractable seating.

However Seb Coe, being the arrogant tosser that he is refused to agree to it, saying it was to be an athletics stadium.

The ironic thing is that, had this been done in the original build, it would have cost less that the final cost and the cost of the alterations required when West Ham moved in and would have been much more like a "purpose built" football ground but still be able to accommodate athletics and other events.

Meanwhile Jacob Rees-Mogg's investment company continues to pour millions of his investors money into Russian businesses and very little if none into our own economy.

They did the first tests on it this week and it all worked correctly according to the club and the videos released.

Plan for the Chelsea stadium is for them to play at another place for 4 years with 2 more years before that of preparation.

Need to start work by March 2020 based on current planning permission.

OT, but you brought it up.

Why would you expect an emerging markets investment specialist to invest in the UK?

It was a reply to a comment from another poster which was OT as well so I never really brought it up. It was my opinion on the comments made about  Abramovich and his apparent withdrawal of funding on the Chelsea development. However since you asked can you really call Russia an emerging market?

I think it’ll be built on the side of the Sky Lounge.

No - the studio is pretty much on the halfway line, the glazed screen is set into the back wall of the stand, the studio is back under the roof above the Skyline lounge.

If we are allowed to build on top of the Skyline Lounge... Why aren't we making that the Skyline Lounge....given the studio will actually have a view of the Skyline?

I'm supposing there will need to be planing consent for this - so perhaps the timeframe for this is slightly more drawn out? (Unless something is already at planning, but I haven't noticed anything on the council's planning portal).

Having watched the video, seems to be a huge number of things that could possibly go wrong with the system, might be lucky that it only needs moved a few times a season!

Just wish they'd hurry up tbh, now looking like july/august before raiders/seahawks tickets will go on sale as it is, due to Spurs being unable to confirm the seating plan with additional NFL cameras in situ (would have though that if you are building a stadium with an NFL pitch then you would have fixed camera points build into the design but seemingly not)

I believe Planning is not required as it does not change the public external appearance of the stadium. A Building Warrant however is required.

Update - the studio is being built slightly towards the Gorgie end.  It is being housed in a space under the roof that covers the stairway from the skyline lounge to the back wall of the stand.

I’m sure it’s been posted before - but how magnificent is the mosaic that’s in the new stand preserved from the old one. That’s heritage.
