Rest Barrie and Shanks

Can’t afford them to miss next Thursday

Would give Nielsen a run at CB

Boyce up top with Ginnelly and give Henderson 30 minutes to make an impression

Shooter McGavin

I’d honestly not be too bothered if we played a half strength team to keep the rest fit and ready for Zurich at home.

At the very least I’d keep McKay and Shankland on the bench.

Halliday is a cert to start IMO and decent chance Gino and GMS too.

I'd like to see Neilson given a chance too although maybe off the bench to avoid chucking him in at the deep end.

90% of our support think we’ll get a spanking so this is the very definition of a free hit.

Lets have some fun with it and have a bit of swagger and zero fear. I agree with resting key players because we’ve got a far more important game coming up but let’s have a wee go with a fringe team and see where it takes us. If it’s getting to look like big numbers we can bring on subs and try and shore it up so we’re not totally embarrassed.

Id like Pollock to get a game. I think he’s excellent.

Play your best team every match. If someone gets injured or suspended, then that's a chance for someone else to step up. Football can and should be fecking simple. Give it your best shot and if the other team is better or get the bounce of the ball then shake their hands and walk off with your head held high.

👏

Flat bars of 4, no more than 15 yards apart. No matter what, keep your shape.

Park the bus.

I don't have any expectation that this is what we'll do, but a total defensive lock down could probably manage a 2-0 loss, which would be just fine, and would give them a taste of Celtic Park.

Give all the outfield players 2 cans of red bull before the match and get the swagger going.

Aye,  throw in the young lads to get absolutely roasted and their confidence destroyed.

Cracking idea.

Other than Neilson and Henderson  the players I mentioned aren't exactly "young lads"

You mention 2,  others mentioned stone and Pollock.

It won't happen anyway,  we'll play a strong team and try to do our best.

It's the 4th league game of the season,  fitness should not be an issue and we have 5 subs.

Find a way to rest Barrie, Shanks, Devlin, Grant and Forest. Its all about a blistering attack on Thursday night.

They won't need a rest and they will want to play.

Team: 4,4,1,1

Gordon

Sibbick

Neilson

Rowles

Kingsley

Forrest

Haring

Devlin

Halliday

Boyce

Ginelly

Atkinson should only be used from the bench as back up for Forrest in a more advanced wing role. He still has something to offer in a more forward position in my view.

We need Shankland,  McKay,  Grant,  Smith,  Cochrane to be ready to start on Thursday. They can be used against Celtic late on to keep them ticking over.

Time for Gino to grab his chance,  for Haring to bounce back with an improved performance and for Neilson to start getting regular game time to see if he has it in him to be the next Souttar. Given time obviously. He's not going to learn much in the Lowland league. He needs game time with the squad.

Totally forgot about Henderson,  a run out for Ginelly at some point.

BackOfTheNet

Can’t see anything other than us getting pumped. To get at Celtic you need to effectively high press for 90 minutes. With Thursday in mind it won’t happen (I suspect it wouldn’t happen anyway) We’ll sit in deep and lose 4-0. My guess is we’ll lose an early goal too. In larger scheme of things, not a massive deal, Europe is the main thing. But will still hurt.

You'd give a 19yr old his competitive debut at Parkhead?

I believe that's called 'doing a Levein'. The next step is to ensure the lad never gets a game for the first XI again.

Dont get me wrong, if they think Neilson is mentally tough enough for it -  then go for it.

But he hasn't even given him 5mins in the last 4 games.

Not looking forward to this one, Celtic are on fire this season and looking very good.

This is where I am, they have movement all over the park with pace that we won't be able to deal with. Jota is probably in the best form of his life just now and will be all over us. It's going to be a grim 90 minutes I suspect and we will do well to lose by under 3 goals.

Has to be a balance between resting players, keeping players ticking over, and not resting so many players that it becomes 6 or 7. The above team means we rest the likes of Grant, Shankland, Boyce. Gives the likely back 4 that will play against Zurich a real test. Atkinson and Sibbick just can’t be trusted defensively. We will still lose but 2 or 3 nil unfortunately is no disgrace in the circumstances.

Grant needs game time - he's not fully fit IMO.

Thursday means more so rest McKay, Smith, Devlin, Shankland & Kingsley, we need every one of them fresh. Gino in for pace on the break & minutes in the legs. Henderson & Grant to come on 2nd half.

We'll probably get pumped, cba. Shite having to go there between 2 massive ties.

I have trouble giving a shit about this fixture at anytime, nevermind sandwiched between 2 euro games.

Let's not risk any injuries chasing them around for 90mins, play anyone who can put a shift in and do the miles and still be fit for Thursday.

It's hard to see anything other than a home win.  TBF that's the same whoever they are playing at darkheid.  I share the previous posters sentiments of getting out of this injury free.

It is but that team will

get absolutely roasted

I just wished he would stick with the 4 at the back it’s as clear as day.

I don't get the timidity...

Eleven v eleven. Always play the best possible team. Always.

Celtic are better on paper but SFW...

An honourable draw is on the cards, or just maybe an epic win. Hearts have Rowles and Gordon, and how will Celtic get past them?
