Arrived yesterday - train from Basel to zurich … didn’t know we couldn’t buy tickets on train … got a 142 CHF fine as a result… more than the flight here … robbing bar stewards. So beware make sure train tickets bought in advance

When I was last in Switzerland I never got pints served anywhere, always half litre glasses. So will be interesting to hear folk saying how much they are paying for a pint when it could, probably be a lower size😀

Can you get pints in the country?

Nope, unfortunately.  Keeping my powder dry for later when we see who we get in any of the group stages.  Will get to one away at least I hope with the laddie.  Enjoy the build up and the match.

Surely the upside will be that the supermarkets will have a load of high percentage alcohol beers to buy - if it is anywhere like any other central European mainland country.

For any aviation geeks out there, this is the chartered 737 from 2excel Aviation that the club are using right now.

…and for any stalkers, here’s a direct link to watch the flight in progress 🤪

Tom Hardy’s Dug

I don’t know why anybody would get on a train abroad without getting a ticket first.

Lesson learned for next time hopefully.

Especially when ticket inspectors will be hanging around drunk foreign football fans to maximise fine income.

Jeez.

What website is this? The St Gallen website says credit and debit card payments are accepted.

It was on the St Gallen website! The English version might not be up to date.

I reckon you could get on a train use the Wi-Fi to go on the Trainline and book tickets on board.

Still very jealous I’m not there even with the fine.

Definitely something you'd check before hand.

As good as the Swiss trains are, don't bet on getting Wi-Fi. Some do, most don't.

Why would you get a pint anywhere in Europe when they never had imperial measures?

I thought a litre was 2.2 pints so half a litre is 1.1 pints.

That's not right. 1 litre is about 1.75 pints

Any pictures of Jambos’ arriving and congregating in Zurich or St Gallen would be much appreciated for us disappointed stay at homes. We can then live some of the experience vicariously through you guys 🙁. Hope the next few days go down in the legends of our European ventures.

I saw the plane as it made its way out over the Forth. It went towards Kirkcaldy (possibly beyond -hard to tell) before a sharpish turn then heading south.

I gave it a wee wave, and that's the closest I'll get to Switzerland.
