Be prepared to pay top dollar for a visit to Zurich.

Posted

I went to Basel and it was mental what they charged for drink

Posted

Quite cheap and handy enough from where I am in Ireland.

Just booked a hotel in zurich with free cancelation. It was £110 a head for 2 nights and looks pretty central

I wonder if Hearts will come out with a charter as if it’s Zurich it’s going to be pricey.

I have played chicken and booked flights and accommodation in Zurich

Same here.

Plenty flying to Basel, some into Italy and others direct to Zurich. I've already booked flights out and have chucked a tenner on Linfield progressing at 8/1. That way I haven't dropped anything on the gamble we're off to Zurich.

There's a suggestion that the game might be in St Gallen - if so Munich isn't a terrible option for flights. Then 3 1/2 on the train

They just played at the Letzigrund (their own ground) last week not sure they can just chop and change.

The hotel i was in cost 21 euros  for a pint and a baily's

Thinking back re the pubs, you could be right, sure i was paying 5 euros or so for a pint

Really selfishly hope they switch the legs but prices are just rising, rising and rising and don't want to commit to paying a heavy fee if it has a chance of being changed.

Decent hedge, but would have been happy to go £25 as insurance to cover most of flight

Very unlikely to change legs as Zurich will have priority being in a bigger competition.

Discussed this on the other thread, not sure which takes priority coefficient or competition.

If it comes to and it is away first i'll just have to pay the going rate at the time.

It depends what you call dear.

Also depending when you travel.

Not a bad idea putting a good wedge on Linfield.

Tactical !

It’s been confirmed by both clubs, it’s away first and Zurich are using St Gallens ground anyway.

Flights are going to be very pricey. Need to get from Zurich to St Gallen too. Hopefully tickets are plentiful, it´s a 2 hour drive from me and would be great to take the wee man.

Beautiful part of the world.

Pity Ryanair stopped the Edinburgh to Memmingen route as it's an easy rail journey to Friedrichshafen then ferry across Lake Konstanz.

Anyone in the travel industry know the best routes and transportation for this? Think of flying to Zurich and hiring a car. If anyone is up for a car share over there let me know? Draw lots for nominated driver as one of us will at least need to be sober 😩

If you're flying to Zurich, why would you hire a car to get to St Gallen?

It should be like going from Edinburgh to Glasgow

The club usually charters a flight for officials and players and helps pay for it by selling the rest of the seats as travel/hotel packages to supporters. I travelled to Mallorca that way.

The game won’t finish till nearly 10pm. Then you’re relying on public transport to get back to Zurich. Doubt they’ll be running a football special just for us. Buses will only hold 30-40 people max and we don’t know if they’ll be plentiful or will be finished drubbing by them. Taxis also doubtful and will be expensive if it’s 45 miles away

Sounds like a decent tactic. Where did you find those odds if you don't mind me asking?

Posted

Looks like the match is being moved to accommodate a Gölä and Trauffer concert.

The capacity at St Gallen looks to be around 9,000 less than in Zurich too so hopefully it doesn't impact on our allocation.
