Zalgaris take the lead v Malmo. 2-0 agg.

That seems like a blow on the face of it. Hopefully Malmo turned rotten.

Actually happy about Malmo potentially going out. A very tough side, but far easier to get to than Vilnius.

Can fly direct from Edinburgh to Copenhagen with Ryanair then its not far from Copenhagen to Malmo's ground 👀

Exactly. Loads of direct flights to Copenhagen from all over the UK.

I imagine a lot of people will go down the carry out route at those prices.

Very impressive from Bodo, all on a budget similar to that of Albion Rovers I believe which makes it all the more impressive.

Not quite. But still impressive. Although, until tonight, they'd made hard work of their European ties so far.

Malmö in big trouble now

Am I right in thinking that, all these teams winning at this stage, COULD still drop down to the Europa Groups if they lose in the next stage ?

I'll let someone else confirm but I'm going to say No. Or at least they wouldn't be able to get drawn against us.

Nah, losers of next round drop to Priority Two of Europa League play off round.

All the teams that win these ties go on to Q3. Most that lose in Q3 will end up in Europa League playoff and face each other (so not Hearts). A couple of losers will go straight to Europa League groups. So we could yet face some of these teams if we make the groups.

Strange that the Champions Path losers from QR3 drop to Europa Play off but League Path losers i.e. if Rangers were to lose they'd drop to Europa groups.

Aye, not even going to attempt to understand how they decide who goes where. I think there's probably quite a lot in the various qualifying paths that doesn't make sense but no one has enough of an idea to ever question it 😂

Fenerbahce and Malmo are two sides I'd like to avoid.

Along with whoever drops out the Zurich/Qarabag game.

Previous Europa (UEFA Cup) Opponents nearly 20 years ago, the last time we were in the group stage, Ferencvaros take the lead v Bratislava.

That's true mate haha

I think the easiest one, without being big headed, is Shamrock/Shkupi.

now. Just waiting on the final game being confirmed now.

Fernecvaros/Slovan Bratislava v Maccabi H/Olympiakos

Malmo are looking like one of the better potential ties now. We'd be second favourites, but they've struggled in Europe so far and haven't set the heather alight domestically (currently 5th, albeit not far off the top).

Fenerbahce yes (and Kiev to be honest), if Malmo just got tanned by Zalgiris Vilnius then they are nothing to be afraid of.

They'll be playing Zurich or Qarabag so will likely be put out before reaching our stage.
