Spot on. If our players had more composure they’d have played round it in two or three passes.

They were rushing the man on the ball from a few yards away so there was time. Instead we panicked and on several occasions got rid of the ball without even trying to find a team mate. It didn’t feel like the more sophisticated press that the likes of Man City and Liverpool employ.

I thought Smith coped with it really well and helped calm things down. A couple more players in the side who’ve experienced European or International games would have been handy.

I thought so too. Smith is underrated in how much of a safety valve he is for the midfield. So often when there's trouble he makes himself available then makes a sound pass.

If we do get into the Europa League, does anyone know what pot we will be in? I am assuming pot 4 - the lowest pot.

Do we know for definite yet which teams will be in pot 1?

There was a post last week which more or less confirmed we are in pot 4. Haven’t played in Europe for so long so our coefficient points are low. Man U def in pot 1

Their defence is rotten though and we never tested them enough

Different story next week at Tynecastle. 🤞

Thats the truth. The difference when Boyce and Forest came on was immediate. We need them starting next thu.

4 2 3 1 for me based upon Halkett loss

bonus if this happens

Leeds are aiming to complete a deal for FC Zurich's Willy Gnonto, 18, for £4m with the Italian striker entering the final year of his contract.

I think they will score one goal at Tynecastle. They've already scored one cheap goal.

They’re fragile but very very dangerous going forward.

I think we’ll need 3 goals.

I'm hopeful we can go through. Worried they will be a dangerous counter attacking side. I'm not worried about us scoring,  far more concerned with us coping with them at the back. Gung ho approach won't work in my view. Getting in their face & dominating the midfield is a must, dictate play & be patient. Fingers crossed we will make the breakthrough & score first!! Anything can happen after that!

These are the pots if the results go the way the bookies are expecting. Replace Zurich with us.

So if we're lucky we could get Braga/Qarabag/Freiburg. Would fancy getting a few points out of that lot.

And if we're unlucky, Arsenal/Kyiv/Ferencvaros. Would be lucky to get a point from that group!

I'm not sure any trip to Azerbaijan would be lucky 😄

I think pretty much every team in Europa League will be really tricky to get points from. Malmo haven't been great so far. They'd probably be the preferred draw from pot 2 though.

Tom Hardy’s Dug

Nothing about the Zurich game has made me change my mind.

Qualifying for Europa scares the shit out of me.

I also think we are - again - underestimating them.

Playing on the counter suits them right down to the ground. We can’t live with their pace, something we still lack.

Azerbaijan on 8th September please as I'm in Las Palmas from 5th to 12th.

But if it's 1v4 and 2v3 in game one, then that would be unlikely?

I'm kind of with you on this. There has been alot of talk about "just going at them" "attack from the start" etc.

That plays to their strengths.

Of course we do need to be more forthright and personally I'd play Shankland, Boyce, McKay and Forest but that doesn't mean shouldn't try and be solid.

They made 10 changes from the team that started against us on Thursday. Was a good fixture for them to do that given lower league opposition and they won 4-0 but underlines how big a game it is for them too.

Apologies if it’s been asked already, but after the draws on Friday, how long will it be until we know the confirmed times and days for the games so we can start getting trips booked?

Bazzas right boot

Swedish team currently half way through blowing a 3-0 lead, 2-0 down nearing ht.

Hopefully Zurich travel just as well.
