If we don’t want to give a Boyce a new contract for after next year or he doesn’t want one it makes complete sense to cash in IMO - if as is suggested there are cash buyers out there. I never expected to make money from Boyce. If we don’t want him beyond 32 and/or he doesn’t want to sign beyond that then we should do a deal this summer. Let’s put it this way I’d rather Aberdeen got Boyce than Simms. Maybe we offered him to Peterborough as part of the deal for Grant and that has sent his agent into sales mode. As for Boyce, retain him and let him go next summer for free - would probably be the best for both parties if he's looking for money. I agree that there are 2 or 3 forwards I’d get rid of before Boyce but none of them have value. I ask again - how many SPL goals did Boyce score from open play in the SPL. It it’s more than 10 I’ll eat my hat? I really like the guy but I wouldn’t put much money on him scoring a penalty for example. And we’ll get between 10 and 15 of them next season the amount of games we play. If Aberdeen wanted to pay a chunk of money for him that helped us fund 2 or 3 players that improved the team as a whole that would be an incredible result.
