Presumably the computer programme they are using to assign seats treats the seats in one big long row going along each row from left to right. A cleverer programme would work it as a snake so if the two seats went between rows you'd be one in front of the other. But hey ho, better than stuck at home. In your case, depending on the age of your son, most families sitting next to each other seemed to be getting left to it by stewards. Easter Road is a tad bigger so maybe the Council are being equally as awkward here for us? Just find it perplexing that teams like Motherwell are getting 6,500.
