It’s okay folks, Neil Lennon says he doesn’t think it’s that big an issue. Carry on as normal.

He also doesn't prioritise dental hygiene. Id take his medical advice with a pinch of salt

A lot of footballers in the higher wage bracket are pretty stupid and has been seen throughout lockdown don't seem to understand that rules apply to them, but there again he may have been to one of the many parts of Spain where transmission rates are as low or lower than in the UK but to where there is no air corridor, which is also pretty stupid. Anyway, the only way that the SPFL will be able to redeem itself is by punishing both Celtic and Aberdeen in a meaningful way - a points deduction of 9 points each, then let the games get played whenever so that their individual opponents do not benefit and at best the punishment will be minus 6 points.

I hope the SG pull the plug now.

The football has only restarted because of the TV money.

Mothball the game until fans are allowed in.

Sky can then sue the SPFL 😂

This is the responsibility of the UK Border Force so it is unlikely to happen any time soon as all 25 of them are sitting in ships off Dover looking to pick up as many "invaders" in small inflatable boats from landing on the UKs shores

True, unfortunately.

I am hoping for maximum disruption, huge headaches and the season to limp to an unsatisfactory conclusion as we romp the Championship.

Now that a Celtic player has broken the rules there is absolutely no chance of the clubs getting points deductions. Maybe a small insignificant fine but nothing that will stop them on their way to 9.5 titles.

What this player done is actually worse than any of the Aberdeen players. The Aberdeen players could at least feign ignorance of the rules, That they didn’t realise that different rules apply to them than the public. The quarantine rule apply to everyone, not just footballers in general. This player is a complete and utter idiot.

How can we trust footballers now to not break the rules? That’s Rangers, Celtic, Aberdeen and St Mirren all ****ing up in some way or another. Can’t blame the SG for considering shutting the game down again. Proved that the SPFL or its clubs couldn’t organise a piss up in brewery.

Completely embarrassing considering the success of other leagues and the fact they had all those examples to go by. It isn’t like this was a brand new concept so they have absolutely no excuses

You are talking as if this is just a football disciplinary matter.

The SG will not give a jot what punishment football gives itself.

Their primary consideration will be the risk to public health caused by continual rule breaking.

No way are they going to tolerate high profile lockdown breaches.

This isn't the UK (one rule for the rich) government we are talking about.

Probably just moan a bit.

She backed herself into a corner by being ‘furious’ about Aberdeen. I don’t see where else she can go with this without losing face. She’s riding high in the polls. Independence is at the highest Opinion polling level it’s been since the 70’s. She’s not going to risk all that by being soft on football when virtually the whole country has been compliant with really tough restrictions for 5 months.

Given it is one of the Old Firm means nothing will happen. “Nothing to see here” approach as usual. Another example of how corrupt the whole of Scottish football is. Everyone knows it but as usual nothing will be done. Imagine the uproar if this had been a Hearts player involved. No doubt we would have been faced with all sorts of opprobrium and outrage. Why we tolerate this nonsense is beyond me!

Why haven’t Aberdeen been punished yet?

Wally Boli jets off to Spain, misses training/tactic sessions and nobody notices, plus he still makes the squad.  What the actual?

Septic fans calling for him to be sacked as he’s shite, if that was Eduoard the Green Brigade would have paid the fine.

Are we surprised that an ‘institution’, such as Celtic FC would not give a £ù(% about fielding a player who should be in self-quarantining.  All they care about is winning at all costs, despite any collateral damage.

It is obvious they; Celtic FC would have known it.  As another poster stated he would have missed training, and surely the management and fellow players knew where he had been.

As the SFA don’t have the balls to stand up to Celtic FC, all we can hope for is some leadership from the Scottish Government.  I wait with baited breath!

Lots of people going about points deductions.  What do we care?  We're not in that division.  Also, it should not be a "footballing penalty" here.  We are talking laws of the land, not infringing SFA or SPFL articles.

It depends if the articles have been amended to list penalties for breaching the Covid restrictions and protocols. If there is no provision for punishment, no one can be punished.

We definitely don’t want it shut down for the season especially now as we’ll be left where we are

I’d be quite happy with lots of negative publicity, points deductions and fines for the players and clubs involved, the season being put on ice until October with the cup semis having to be moved and all kinds of fixture chaos ensuing

We need to be top of the league AND we need the season to be played out

There is no guarantee that the nest of vipers would vote as they did last time if the leagues end early

Even with the best fans in the world we don’t want to be down for 2 seasons

If Sky withhold their money, we end up having a big game of ‘whose fans have the deepest pockets’. As we’ve demonstrated time and time again, we’ll stand up if required. Not sure how many other teams can say that...

The Aberdeen players broke the rules that apply to the public. The group of them in the restaurant were from more than 3 households, which is the limit for everyone. They may well have broken additional SPFL rules as well. Even then the idea that they didn't know different rules apply to them than the public isn't an excuse, it's their job to know what rules apply to them. Same as anti-doping or betting regulations.

What really angers me is that this is what we were expelled from the league for. We were told that it's hard luck on Hearts but nothing can be allowed to threaten the new season starting and the new TV contract being honoured. A week into the new season and the TV contract has already been breached with a game due to be shown live postponed due to a team failing to follow the rules. Yet the body that was so quick to come to a decision on cancelling last season seems to be totally silent on punishing Aberdeen and now Celtic.

Hopefully the First Minister will have the balls to do what should be done and pause the season for a fortnight

When Aberdeen had a flair up of cases and pubs etc were shown not to be following the rules she shut down the hospitality sector every pub, restuarant and coffee shop.

Why should football be treated differently

How the hell are players in our division going to isolate and live in the wee football bubble when a lot of them are part time and have jobs other than their football?

The Championship will be a farce also.

Exactly.  I want football shut down in this country.  If it comes down to clubs needing support from their fans to survive, we will be fine (once again) whilst the likes of raith etc will die.

IF they shut the league down, we stay down for 2 years. No matter how loyal we are, that would hurt big time

Best we should hope for us a temporary suspension and a restart in October to coincide with our start

possibly, but there would also be the chance that at least one premiership side could go bust opening up a spot for us. not sure how likely it would be also i do see the other clubs doing their best to keep us down.

Unlikely our league will start at all under those rules.  Lot of championship players and vast  majority of league 1 & 2 players have their main jobs outside of football. How will these rules work for them ?

I reckon the solution is simple.

Teams that can do it-play, teams that can't or continually break the rules- don't.

On another note, sturgeon if not thinking about stopping "elite," sports will have further doubts about fans attending games.

Thiese issues haven't helped the case to get fans back into grounds.

Your shitey club admitted half its first team squad were halfwits. Now, as we suspected, many players and officials in the corrupt league are halfwits. Time to shut it down until October for the good of the Nation.
