Why would it not be allowed ?....the point was made earlier that 3 households is fine so can't hammer them on that one

That they shouldn’t be out in public as a crowd might gather, it was part of what Sturgeon said today, school kids might want their autograph 🤷🏾‍♂️😃. They’ve been allowed to play, be in close contact with others that most aren’t allowed so they have to stay in their bubble.

I'm sorry but how the hell are Aberdeen not being punished for this.  I don't think St Johnstone should get 3 points as it benefits them but Aberdeen should be deducted 6 points and then for the rescheduled game they can't play the infected 8.  If they win, best case for them is they are 3 points down - but no way should they be unpunished for this.

And this should then be the norm for any team this season where similar situation arises.

Exactly, they don’t even a rule for it yet, which considering how long they’ve had to do it is a joke.

So who gets to know Players names if a team have players test positive?

is it a case of telling SPFL - player ‘X’ is a positive test or do the SPFL get the player(s) name?

Thinking from the point of view if you have a player with a niggle or possible suspension, appears to be real easy to say 1 player positive. All players in their training bubble are to isolate, sorry we need to reschedule the game...

Given it took the Scottish gov to step in and cancel the game, the SPFL seem to have no procedures in place for an outbreak this size at a club.

They also seem to have no procedures in place if the season has to pause or end again.

They don't seem to have any punishments agreed for clubs breaking the protocols etc and already that's 4 clubs I make it - Rangers, Hibs, Aberdeen and St Mirren - that have broken the rules.

Doncaster admitted they didn't even have a plan B in the event Hearts and PT won our case.

I was not aware the SPFL were in control of Covid outbreaks and their response....there is no rule book on Covid despite your attempts to tell us there should be and decisions will be taken on an ad hoc basis. It really is that simple as we are all making it up as we go along re Covid.  Governments will be included in this and as long as the 'rules' adopted apply to all equally then that's fine

Any punishments will be under the general disciplinary rules they have in place

What you are annoyed about is that they have not been fined or points deducted but they have been disciplined just not in the manner you wish...perhaps in time you will get your wish but not yet but again this is against the background of something we have not seen or had to deal with before

No doubt you know what Spain, Germany, England, France, Italy, Andorra,  Lichtenstein etc all have in place to help us

The clubs remember voted not to give power to the SPFL board so the clubs will decide what happens if a season is paused so no blame for spfl on that front..including Hearts by the way

Amazing that they did not have a plan for something that has never happened before...still if you were in charge you'd have every possibility covered including alien landings is well no doubt.

Desperation post 😄 and sorry it comes over as if you are trying to put the boot in and sad to say its beginning to show when from time time to time you may have points to make that are valid

You should be pleased that they are out and about looking for people to whom they can give an autograph..flying the flag and all that.

Nothing wrong and nothing to raise a point about this time

Gio, if they were out for a meal last Saturday. When did the spike in Aberdeen start? Week before?

Bit late replying,  nobody knew until Sunday when 12 cases had been reported linked to Hawthorn Bar, an old haunt of Granite City Hearts committee meetings by coincidence.

They wouldn't have known that the risk was high.

Local chat linking it now to a bar not far from me. Offshore worker was sent home to isolate but went straight to the pub instead.

There is a simple concern. Infection. A football authority must have plans and set parameters to behaviour/compliance to maintain some form of CONTROL when dealing with different  scenarios - not just look to play on -  that have little connection to alien invasion, which you have introduced because you think it's a good comparison. We know covid 19 is highly infectious. The football authorities have liaised with the SG over months not just since Cosgrove got a round in.

Nice to see that the BBC seem to be having a pop at the Scottish Government and how they are handling the SPFL/SFA issue.

As was stated at the covid 19 daily brief today NS stated that the SG had a meeting with the SPFL/SFA and the the SPFL/SFA decided to postpone the ST J / ABZ game tomorrow. I suspect that at this time the SPFL/SFA decided to postpone the ABZ/ H Accie game on Wed.

However as the SPFL/SFA tried to spin that it was the SG that told them to postpone the St J game and have also not as yet postponed the Wed game. This IMHO is the the SPFL/SFA taking the hump and trying to put the SG in a bad light. It is after all the way they behave deflection and diversion.

It wasn't us SKY it was those nasty politicians what done it so we do not owe you any money back as our hands are tied.

I suspect that they may also have postponed the Celtic game but are keeping quiet about this in the hope that in a weeks time everything will change back in their favour.

Not desperate at all, they shouldn’t be out in public, that’s the guidelines they should be following.
Sorry if you weren’t aware of that or it doesn’t fit into your argument that the Aberdeen players are blameless.

Exactly and they’ve been informed what is required for football to be played, if they haven’t told the clubs or the clubs haven’t made it abundantly clear to the players then heads should roll. Or shut it down again.

You don't need to be a genius to predict postponements. Smart planning would have ensured plenty of time in the schedule. Instead the SPFL is firing ahead with the BetFred Cup and the SFA is intent on finishing last season's SC this season.

They manage to punish teams for everything under the sun most seasons. I'm pretty sure they could have worked out  a bunch of scenarios and attached protocols and processes to them. Those could include, what if a club breaks the rules meaning a game can't go ahead.

Not only lack of leadership but hopeless incompetence. From the moment this pandemic started there has been no thought out plan from either the SFA or the SPFL. As said earlier, they just react to events and then get it wrong. Some kind of working committee should have had plan A, B, C worked out and clear statements about the procedures, sanctions, scenarios, eventualities in place. If I hear the words 'SKY deal' again I'll burst.

The word Schadenfreude was invented for this mess -  It's the pleasure, joy, or self-satisfaction from witnessing the troubles, failures, or humiliation of another. The emotion is driven by aggression, rivalry, and justice. I don't wish harm to anyone but the way this is going to play out it's Schadenfreude all round.

Absolutely, where are their contingency plans?

schadenfreude is one of my favourite words. Shame we don’t have an equivalent.

The whole culture of the SF A and SPFL is as about as unsuited to this situation as you can imagine. Priorities all wrong from day 1 (as we know )so you are left with no reason to expect anything but making it up as they go along with an eye always on 'how will any precedent affect the cancer twins'

Isn’t is great, that after being at the sharp end of all the carry on since Good Friday, we can take all this nonsense in without feeling any anxiety or anger.

Instead, we can listen to all the protagonists either trying to make excuses for Aberdeen fc, the SFA and the SPFL, or shaking their heads at how outrageous it is that this has happened.

Meanwhile, has anyone seen or heard Mr Vindication lately?

What has this incident to do with the old firm ? or how is it even the footballing authorities fault ?

Seems to me people are just linking everything and anything to them and the SPFL...Aberdeen's players made a mistake and did not abide by the rules..how has that anything to do with Celtic/Rangers or the SPFL in terms of their fault ?

Players are at fault in this instance not the authorities

Of course mistakes have been made but this is hardly the fault of anyone else except the players

The Aberdeen players are at fault. They and their club should be punished accordingly.

However the authorities in this case in the form of the SPFL, should have postponed the game as soon as they knew two players tested positive and a further six are in isolation. No they once again didnt do anything and had to be told by the Scottish government to postpone the game.

They will end up postponing the Aberdeen game midweek 24hrs before it's due to take place, this after saying the game will go ahead.

They will do the same on Friday for the Celtic v Aberdeen game at Celtic Park at the weekend. Again after saying  the game will go ahead.

The SPFL should have called both the Hamilton and Celtic games off and told Aberdeen they wont be playing again until after the players have all finished isolating. That's leadership.

The SPFL dont have it. They are weak and totally inept.

Or do you believe they show competence and leadership of the highest order?

I think you can compare it to how incompetent governments like the UK&US have dealt with the pandemic, no plans, play it by ear, contradict yourself, fail the people who ultimately pay your wages. Not fit for purpose, and corrupt to boot.

There’s only one person desperate here and it’s not me. I will make this as clear as possible, you’ve now been told by other folk too that the rules agreed on by the SG/SFA/SPFL mean that players must stay in their bubbles. They’re only allowed to have full contact training and play games, the rest of us can’t get that close to colleagues, if they do not have contact with people outside their bubble. No pubs, no restaurants, no coffee shops. The first minister said today THEY SHOULD NOT BE OUT IN PUBLIC, what does she know 🙈?

Nothing in that states the players have broken any rules  and before anyone posts this is about the Hearts players having a coffee today which Pasquale thinks is breaking the rules but then again he doesn't know what the rules are so posts word after word but with nothing to point out what rule they have broken.

You have nothing Pasquale so sorry but until you can tell us what rule they have broken then sad to say you are simply stirring matters against a club you claim to support...I get it that you are trolling but trolls are sad and ignored after a short while.

Try as I might there is no statement  to say they should not be out in public from the first minister...but no doubt you have the quote from a reliable source

They are within their own bubble and can go out in public..perhaps not mix with the public outside their own bubble but they can go out

Here's a mangers view..he should know..Jim Goodwin at St Mirren.....note they can go out or do you not follow that

If you pick it up through no fault of your own, what can you do? But we don’t want players in pubs and nightclubs.

“I am not saying they cannot go out for a quiet meal with their wife or their partner. Pubs and clubs are the problem because these places cannot police the social distancing and things properly.”
