The vaccine is working, vulnerable and over 40’s at least should be vaccinated by the end of April. Maybe you should let that sink in instead of trying to be smart and having a go at people. If you don’t have a life outside this forum that’s fine sit in the house until you feel it’s safe, some of us are ready to get in with our life.

He’s overly “ cautious “ by my reckoning

i get what you are saying but given that the third of the population that have had the vaccine are the ones who would be more likely to end up in hospital this in theory should keep hospital admissions down. The Nightingale hospital and all others in England getting closed never needed for Covid cases some used as testing centres it was all about protecting the NHS which it has and i applaud all the staff for all their great work. But imo it's time to open up a bit quicker i'm not advocating everything at once but non essential shops, pubs/restaurants even for outside only, now that the weather hopefully gets a bit warmer. As things progress more people vaccinated less hospital admissions in the long term. i will not argue that they will go up initially but it's at the stage were we have to move on an live with Covid and treat it like the flu which kills as well.

I really don't care for this debate, but I would like to point out that this year alone I've had an MRI, an ultrasound, a biopsy, I've been in A&E, I have a neurology appointment tomorrow and saw a hand specialist last week, all in hospital.

The narrative that everything bar births has been ignored is a long way removed from my experience.

I've had Bladder tests, blood test, a camera up the :whistling: and CT tests for my Kidneys, oh and I've still to have an ultrasound. All done in the RAH and VoL hospital. But hey, nae covid, nae entry.  :fonzie:

I've been keeping an eye on the age group case numbers to see if there is any evidence of an increase since pre school and primaries 1-3 returned on 22 February.  The measured age group is 0-14, so covers more than those returning to education.

It is probably too early to make any judgement, but the case numbers suggest that there is little difference, so far.

That could be viewed both positively and negatively. Positive in that there has been no apparent spike, but negatively in that numbers haven't continued to fall as they have done in other age groups.

Date ------- Age group ----Cases-- 7 day Av

22/02/2021   0 to 14 84 83.71
23/02/2021   0 to 14 70 80.43
24/02/2021   0 to 14 86 83.71
25/02/2021  0 to 14 81 81.57
26/02/2021  0 to 14 77 79.14
27/02/2021  0 to 14 61 76.00
28/02/2021  0 to 14 56 73.57
01/03/2021  0 to 14 101 76.00
02/03/2021  0 to 14 67 75.57
03/03/2021  0 to 14 74 73.86
04/03/2021  0 to 14 96 76.00

06/03/2021  0 to 14 79 78.71
07/03/2021  0 to 14 77 81.71

Just for comparison are the corresponding case numbers for the 14-19 age group which show a steady decline over the same period.

22/02/2021  15 to 19 46 49.57
23/02/2021  15 to 19 47 47.29

Patrick Harvie is a hoot.

Looking to stop The Rangers playing. Pity NS did not point out it was too late for that to save his own team, the league is already won!!

He also was a bit risky with potentially missing out of a lot of votes for the Green Party in forthcoming elections:lol:.

As to stopping all football, is was good to hear NS knock him back.....away to wash out my mouth with soap!!

Back on topic, it's good to see progress tackling the virus. NS also gave a "hint" that opening up visits to 4 adults from 2 families is not really addressing the LA restrictions which is still stopping many from seeing each other unless they ignore the rules!!

Thanks as ever for Redjambo producing his daily update. This is my "go to" source for this information.

I've got no issue with easing of restrictions at the end of April. I was responding to the suggestion that we should be opening everything up right now and return to normal life without delay.

With regards to being able to meet up with another household from next week, does that mean travel restrictions are eased, or are we still having to stay within 5 miles and our council?
