The same Clement that failed at Swansea and Reading where the fans said he played boring and negative football?

Would you take Steve Clarke? Clement has a better record in the championship and interestingly at Reading.

What about his record at Derby the job that got him noticed? We just forgetting that because you asked all the Swansea and Reading fans what they thought?

Nah, seems to play too much hoofball. Did a shite job towards the end at Dortmund. Think he’ll get found out soon at Liverpool. Wouldn’t suit our club, not a big enough name. 🙃

Any Manager we will get in will have had bad seasons, past clubs fans slating them, been sacked, Been at a few clubs etc. What we need to get is a manager who can make players better. Such a character like Brendan Rodgers, who can take shit players, and develop them no matter what their age. That’s what I would like. So anyone who has a track record of doing that In a way im all for it.

What I dont want to have to do after the new manager is announced is come on here with a "meh"

That'll be a downer for me.

Somebody's 'meh' will be someone else's 'yeah'

There will be no 100% for any appointment and there has never been 100% backing for any past manager at the start of their reign

I do think some people have to temper their thoughts regarding just who we can attract at a salary we can afford and the resources available to the new manager to attract him

.

No manager will get a 100% approval rating because we're not going to get someone who's been perfect their entire career. Whoever we get will have likely had a bad time elsewhere at some point and that's all some will focus on.

I get it. And I guess only I will know MY meh.

I know the top names it wont be.

I know the bottom feeders I dont want to see.

So I guess the best of the middle group is what I want.

Is Mourinho still available?

The only other type of candidate would be one who has made a success of his first managerial role at a lower level

There is no 'baggage brought along but of course no long term experience either

I would prefer if those involved in deciding the manager would simply state we will go for the best manager we can get and leave it at that instead of talking about the type of manager you may think you want....fine at the start of the process but you may suddenly find the 'diamond' during the process who does not meet the criteria and if so how does that make you look

PS of course you could try the number 2/3 at a bigger club looking for a chance but again experience is an issue

Hibs will wait and see who we are linked to then snap one up and claim it is a coup!!

It is what they do.

Just had a message from my Bangor supporting friend re Atkins. He says " he is a great guy and a genuine human being" "a real scientist who will do really well if the players buy into his ways" "won us the league and is held in very high esteem by us and with the Scunthorpe fans I know" He thinks it's the kind of job he'd love it's "the buy in that's crucial"   Just hope he is on our radar!

Lee Bullen at 25s. Interesting. Jambo fan as a kid raised in Penicuik.

Seems unlikely as has a business and settled family in Sheffield.

However has gone from managerial front runner at SWFC to Garry Monk's cone boy in a matter of weeks..allegedly.

Levein can be called out on many things but part-time is not one of them.

I said part time manager, I know Levein put in a lot of hours, but that was because he was spreading himself across too many roles. Anyway it was intended as a joke, I appreciate the amount of work Craig put in, he didn't fail through lack of effort.

I wouldn't leave Preston for Stoke either so I don't blame him for that.

Preston are on the up and would be good to see them keep it going.

Shows what a load of shite it is when one of the market leaders has already ruled himself out in no uncertain terms.    Complete fantasy stuff.    If there were odds on the manager being sombody not on the list,   that would be the best bet going.
