Not the most inspiring list at the moment. Can’t see Jack Ross returning surely?

From that list David Moyes or Steve Robinson for me.

Posted

As long as we get an attacking manager rather than that dross we have had to endure

That actually makes depressing reading but it is what it is.  Don’t let our current position fool anyone, this is a fantastic opportunity to manage a great club.

Jack Ross has failed badly at Sunderland despite having the biggest budget in that league.

Holt could be ok but would rather not take the chance.

Done ok with attrition but I am all attritioned out

I don’t want Holt. If rumours are true at Livi, then Martindale is more or less the man in charge.

Scot Gemmill could do alright. He has contacts and his team play fast, exciting football

Thought Ross left us on bad terms?

Surprised neil mccann not on betting list

Robinson at a push.  The rest, no thanks.

Odds have been slashed already with Jack Ross now 6/4 and Robinson now 10/1.

Correct, he was in the background for Hopkin as well. Martindale would be some appointment, cannot see that happening!

Absolutely no chance due to his shady past.

Would take Neil Harris, not long left Millwall, if he'd come.

On that list Moyes would certainly lift the profile. In his last job at West Ham steadied the ship and was unlucky maybe not to keep his job.

On that list I don't think you turn your nose up at him.

I'd love to see Sergio with this squad and transfer windows..

On the list given, Moyes is only one that jumps out.

Jack Ross would be worse than Levein. Abysmal manager. Ask any Sunderland fan what his team was like. Straight from the Levein school of coaching and boring a crowd to death.

I would like to see us go for Gareth Ainsworth at Wycombe.

I heard that on Saturday from a livi fan.

The reason Kenny Miller left Livvy so quickly... Martindale pulls the strings

Jack Ross .. I wouldn’t think so.. not given the history

Malky MacKay stays in Balerno.......Just saying.

O'Neill or Moyes for me if they were available and in our price range.  I'd love to see an appointment from left field such as Clarke going to Killie ie a manager from down south who has been at a good level but needs to get back into work and has something to prove.

If not, Robinson or Gemmill from that list.  .

Cant see Budge taking to Mackay given his part of racism and sexism.

Doesn’t make good reading that list.

Although Paul Hartley was at the Aberdeen game and I did wonder why considering he’s away up the highlands these days and it was a 19:45 kick off. 🧐

He can remain there too

Is the new manager to have full control.I assume we will no longer have a DOF,or am I reading things wrongly .It could have a big bearing on who applies.

Posted

That's such an uninspiring list of candidates.

Please go for a forward thinking, attack minded, coach from the continent who has no ties to us or any of Scottish football.

I also don't like middle of the road English Championship managers coming up here looking for a stepping stone to one of the better jobs down south. They tend to show Scottish football no respect.

Absolutely would be a great appointment but not sure it will happen

I suspect Ross or Robinson will get it

Is that still a possibility for him?

Surely not Ross.  Hes failing miserably.  Just have to wait and see.

Ross or Robinson from that list please.

Michael O’Neill if it’s a possibility.

The rest, meh.

It should be as safe and predictable as possible when you're in a position like ours.    A known quantity.

Robertson or Neilson.     Robertson for me.

😂 I’d be absolutely appalled if we appoint Ross (won’t happen anyway) or Robinson who’s done **** all at Motherwell

What about Daniel Stengel who left Barnsley recently? Maybe unrealistic but it seems like their fans were upset at his departure.

Aye, I’d definitely take him. He’d be a good appointment.

None of the people on that list have done anything bar Michael O’Neill. So I don’t know who you’re hoping for because you will no doubt be bitterly disappointed. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Don't get the clamour for Holt. Pre match interview last night he said he 'wants to win the battle first'. Don't want a manager who sets up like that. Plus his record away from that shocking pitch is poor apart from odd draw.

No thanks.

From the list, Gemmill would be an interesting choice

from those not on list

Gareth Ainsworth from Wycombe

Michael Flynn from Newport

Joey Barton from Fleetwood

Simon Grayson from Blackpool

Nigel Clough from Burton

Michael Duff from Cheltenham

Paul Hurst from Scunthorpe

Discussion is discounting those that apply and are off the radar of the bookies. That's where my hope lies.

Good list, apart from Barton. No way on so many levels.

The others would be a good shout. It's a choice between experience and potential there though. And most are maybe within budget, unlike the Moyes of this world.

Could barely win a game at Sunderland.

If you are looking at Joey Barton the person, then yes he’s a tool, however he seems to be a pretty decent manager.

Controversial choice. Yes, but would definitely have the ability to do the job and one things for certain, we wouldn’t go to places like Parkhead or Ibrox already beat. He certainly would install a bit more of a winning mentality

The interesting ones for me are Flynn. I’ve thought for a long time that he’s ready to go to next level in management but for some reason has stayed loyal to Newport and Michael Duff. He’s completely transformed Cheltenham. Northern Irish so would have a good connection with AMc and will know the guys like Smith and Washington.
