Lord Beni of Gorgie
Correct call. As mentioned last week 30 players plus is too much logistically even for training. Good to get him and Lee fresh moves when they are going to be very much on the periphery. Glad to see Craig tidying up the squad
MTS1874
Never rated by Levein so best the guy leaves. Strange signing though.
5jambo1
It was obvious last year we needed a freshness in centre midfield. We seemed to lack an energy and composure in there. After Lee and Edwards leave we only have Haring from last season really who actually played consistently there before his injury. Assuming we sign a quality central midfield player then I think we are covered in there. We have Irving who has impressed who will feel like a new signing and also Clare who will be playing in his favourite position who will hopefully add a goal threat from there. We also have Bozanic who can do a job and seems like he will be happy to fight for a place (you need these kind of players as we cannot have 22 players all on big wages expecting to play every week) cochrane who is obviously talented and will get much more game time this season for his development. We we also have walker and Naismith who can play there when we play a 3 which I think we will at times this season. That is 5 (7 if you include walker and Naismith) options not including another top quality centre mid. Very intrigued as to who we are looking at as we certainly don’t need another ‘number’ in there, it needs to be someone who will improve our first

busby1985
Mad to think how limited his chances where considering Levein will bend over backwards to accommodate Wighton. Great news for the likes of zanatta and MacDonald tho.
Debut 4
If there’s a view to bringing in a couple of quality signings and at the same time streamline the squad, there may be another exit or two yet. Just a guess.

DH1986
Good news about Edwards. He was going to be a bit part player at best and this is what we don’t need......we need a squad of players who are either first team starters beefed up with our best youth players. We are trying to move more on imo and clearing the decks for a step up in player quality in that area of the pitch.

Martin_T
Personal preference, but I would rather we signed a younger player than adding to someone like Charlie Adam's pension pot. I can't think of too many younger midfield prospects within our price range playing within the SPFL, but a Lewis Ferguson type, who Aberdeen picked up from Hamilton for a small six figure fee would be ideal.
