Remember Gallagher playing at Brockville on a wet Wednesday night with a broken leg, no subs then I think. He just hopped about the centre spot and fell in front of folk! They don't make them like that anymore!

It could be, The candy stripe strip could be Dunfermline. I was looking at the terracing behind and the stand which looks a lot like Somerset. On the other hand the barrier between terracing and pitch at Somerset now is a wall, and the barrier at the old East-End was like the one in the picture ( I seem to remember). You're probably right.

I've messaged one of my Ayr pals who would know about the strip and wall, I'll let you know the answer.

Can't remember Sneddon with a tash. Is it  Pittodrie with Drew Jarvie second from right? Doesn't look like Tynecastle.

Only remember with a tache

Jimmy Cant posted the story on here.

Basically, John Cumming treated him with a magic sponge and told him to play on.

In Jimmy's words "It was the end for faither", He was relieved of his trainer duties soon after.

Note: the real Jimmy Cant posted, not the poster of that name

Hmm, vs Hibs not a league game? We had a wee - very wee- run of good results including that one (2-1)

Agree - McQuade scored in the league game at ER that year (November). Great goal - my first victory against them at ER. Think they beat us in the Cup (QF) 2-1 at ER that same year. 78? 79?

Memory playing tricks on me.

Was sure McQuade scored the first and O'Connor lobbed the 2nd to win a cup tie 2-1.

I think I 3 different games mixed up and we never won a cup tie.🥺

Yip, first time I had seen a victory at ER - great goal. 79 was the cup, I think.

Gibson pen not enough. I think Hearts beat Aberdeen, Celtic and Hibs in a mini run. It didn't last

It certainly didn’t and we got relegated again.

Think it's from this match

That was the league game at Pittodrie after the league game around September time at Tynecastle which ended in a 2-2 draw, with all the goals coming in the first Eight minutes.

Spurs, Martin Peters, Martin Chivers, and Mike England in the background.

Hearts. Eddie Thompson, so not the 1974 centenary game.

Malky never drunk 😂😂😂

Known by some as the 'Bacardi Kid' IIRC. Good wee player on his game. Wasn't on his game often enough.

We used to call him ‘Malky the Alky’.

He could quite clearly be seen drinking in the bar at the back of the old stand (where my pal and I had our seats),  just an hour or so before kick-off.

He obviously loved a wee drink but, to be honest, it never seemed to have any impact on his performances.
