Do you also believe the earth is flat ?

It will be discoloured but it will be fine and perfectly playable.

A belief of forecasts and predictions that invariably turn out to be folly.

Grass grows about 2cm p/w in a temperate climate. In summer it grows faster because it has more sunlight, and we also use lighting systems to maximise this. With the lights, extra hours of sunlight and the amount of rain getting dumped on it just now, it’ll be growing extremely fast indeed. The roots of the grass on our pitch has stored carbohydrates from last summer in its root systems too. When it takes a tanking, it uses these stored carbs to regenerate. That pitch will look nothing like that in three days.

No, it’s basic chemistry, biology and established scientific fact. There is a reason grass has dominated every continent on the planet except Antarctica. It’s the superman version of plants.

You would hope that with the amount of money we spent on the pitch, that the appropriate person within the club reached out to the pitch manufacturer to ask for expert advice prior to agreeing to the event...to verify no long term damage would happen.

In AB’s interview she said she did ask.

Exactly...so if the advice was wrong, hopefully whoever gave it is liable.

More likely, is that there’s no issue and it will be fine.

I'm sure the earth is predominantly water with the odd scattering of land hence a sprinkering of Grass.

This is the big world , not some P7 science project.

Would you have spent the £18 million for the stand on players?

Or the £200k plus from the concert even.

Almost, but not quite. c70% of the surface of the Earth is COVERED in water. The free water table of the Earth is in a cycle as it moves from the surface, to the atmosphere. The surface/crust of the earth is rock. Of the c30% that isn’t covered in free water, much is trapped in glaciers, ice and permafrost. The surface areas of the continents that are not covered in water/snow/ice are covered in either desert sands or plants. Grass is almost always the first to grow, because it is unique in how it grows. It grows fast and spreads quickly.

I would have spent the £18m on hookers, coke, beer, gin and probably Warhammer stuff.

Due the all this rain the game will be postponed. Problem solved.

Better still, switch this fixture to Dingwall and play them away first. Be better than travelling to Dingwall midweek in winter. 🍻

It's actually entirely land, although large areas of the land have water on top.  Granted, grass doesn't grow very well in those areas.

I reckon I'd spend £12m on hookers, coke and weed, probably just waste the rest.

Thought it wasnt looking that bad originally, but the most recent photos aren’t looking good at all.

That doesn’t look like just a bit of discolouring.

Fake news.

There's nothing wrong with the pitch.

Just a wee bit yellow.

I must admit, when I first saw this, I thought the pitch looked pretty bad.

But then I put my business hat on and thought it was probably OK.

Not that bothered personally, my seat is on the Gorgie side of the half way line so my end looks ok.

But seriously, it looks like they have been over the pitch with a hollow tiner so maybe they're looking at the structure of  the top few inches of the turf. Time will tell.

Greenkeeper on a facebook group likened it to taking a plaster off, the skin is soggy, discoloured but after air gets in to it it then recovers.  Perhaps that's why they've spiked / tined it?
