JamboAl
This goes way back to the start of last season though. Then again in January we had another opportunity to sign a keeper. The majority of this window has passed and still it hasn't been addressed. That's almost 3 transfer Windows!! Ok fair enough, we were unlucky not to get Gilks in the first of the 3 and I totally appreciate it is difficult to find a good keeper on our budget, they are few and far between. However we 'cannot' go into the rest of the season with Hamilton in goals and it is unlikely that the Jan 2018 window is the time or place where we will be able to bring one in given the time constraints, and the fact that clubs get held hostage in terms of money. Why are you moaning then?
Debut 4
this is getting on my nerves, the people who make the football decisions are not up to the job, sacking the head coach should have been done at the end of last season, unless they sent him on a course on how to motivate players and could get their money back, he was never going to make it, a keeper should have been signed long before now, why the actual F did they let it get to this stage without a first pick one, midfield is a joke, we have needed a box to box midfielder for two years, why have we not got one by now? did they think they could turn Matin into one? they are giving contracts to players my gran could run past and some say give Levein a chance, how many ****-ups is enough to get your arse kicked? You'll not get many rushing to agree mate. DC_92
We signed Djoum, Rossi, and Pallardo after the windows closed. All three were among our best signings in their respective years. Rossi was signed in July and played in the opening game.

An acknowledgement perhaps that money is tight 'at this moment' given the new stand, etc... But That's no excuse really is it? 3 transfer Windows down the road. We probably spunked away a million quid plus from January-June on the pile of dung we signed in the Jan window. I don't know why you're even trying to make an issue of this, unless you somehow think we don't need a goalkeeper? Surely no.
Martin
We badly need players in but we can't do that and risk landing the new boss with players he doesnt fancy, we already have enough of them. We don't know if Randall is any good or not, but we let Cathro go ahead and sign him when he was on the brink of getting sacked, who knows if the new boss will rate him or not, otherwise it's just more wasted wages. It's not ideal but we have to be patient as I am sick of us just bringing in any old player for the sake of it who isn't improving our first 11 (apart from Berra and Lafferty). Despite that, with proper organisation, motivation and a willingness to attack, we still have more than enough to take care of Kilmarnock on Saturday. Bazzas right boot
These signings better be like dominoes once the new gaffer is aboard. The Klaxon could be going full pelt after a quite few weeks.
Watt-Zeefuik
For a short period of time. In the 2015 season who was a better signing than Pallardo? Sow obviously and Buaben come to mind but I can't think of others that I'd put above him. Zeefuik maybe but he was January. Rossi was signed in July and played in the opening game. Cheers, my mistake.

You simply appear to be grasping at straws out of frustration and criticising just for the sake of it.You're trying to create an argument out of nothing really. In fact, it is quite apparent we have needed a goalkeeper since the start of last season. This became blatantly obvious in January and since the end of the season it became 'critical'. I don't understand why you are becoming so overly defensive about something that every punter and their dug can see. Maybe you can't, I don't know, you've failed to answer my question. Yes, it is difficult to find a top keeper. It is generally a specialist position, there are fewer goalkeepers in the world that players of other positions, but it isn't impossible, and when you consider every Goalkeeper in this league is probably a better option than ours then it certainly defies the odds as to why 'we' can't seem to find one within almost three transfer Windows. That's an acknowledgement of the position, it's not an acknowledgement that it is somehow outside of the realms of possibility to find a Goalkeeper that actually stops the ball going into the net. Given Craig Leveins, Ian Cathro, Austin MacPhees etc... Connections within football, to other clubs, agents, coaches etc it should be relatively easy to find an improvement, every other clubs manages it. Its hardly clutching at straws suggesting we 'probably' spunked 1million quid on fees and wages on our January signings, more of a fact. So this shite that there was no money is just that, shite. There maybe isn't very much in the pot now that it has been wasted on useless players and staff who failed to meet budget requirements for this season. There is absolutely no excuses as to why we have failed to sign a Goalkeeper in 3 Windows to this point. Furthermore it is even more ridiculous that the Goalkeeper we did sign, is so bad that he is no.2 to Hamilton. What excuse is there? It's a terrible state of affairs. For what it is worth, I acknowledge that Craig Levein as DoF has probably done his up most to get the players Neilson and Cathro wanted but given the disaster of last season, the poor decision to hire Cathro then not fire him until a week before the start of the season, he has to bare the brunt of responsibility to the shape of the current squad. It's a complete mess.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk It's not that game that has people concerned it's the total mess the club is in,Levein and Budge will get absoloutly crucified at the next AGM as they have oversaw the most shambolic start to a season in my 30 years watching Hearts, even in the darkest Romamov days we had some players with quality and some hope,I see nothing from our heads (football department) to indicate they are capable of putting a team together that can rival Aberdeen or Rangers or even the fecking hobos at this minute in time.We are a disaster of a football club who even the best manager in the world will struggle with.Hamilton,Buaben,Hughes started last week I reckon they wouldn't get a game in any other SPL team, that's a lot of quality to find for our 1st 11 never mind building a squad. And early signs of us struggling to beat Elgin and East Fife and losing to Peterhead and toiling against a Dunfermline side who just had a strapping from Rangers. Clark Griswold
Nope not forgotten that. I just think it's daft to write off a whole season before it's really begun (in the league). Hopefully whoever we get in, both players and manager wise, will turn it around. We have to have faith and optimism otherwise what's the point? The fact they got rid of Cathro is a good sign, albeit it should have been done after the lap of dishonour last season, but it's done none the less. Can you imagine the state of here if he was indeed given the 4 league games! There's no doubting this is the club's biggest test and hurdle since admin, and I believe we will come out the other side. RS86
We have gotten quality players after the window in recent years. I imagine that could be the case again this year. 3 that immediately spring to mind are Pallardo, Djoum and Rossi. Pallardo was good in championship season, miles off the pace to make the step up but if Rossi was still here he'd still be a regular starter (and we'd be better defensively IMO) and Djoum is arguably our best player when he actually plays well. Edit - Replied before reading on and saw that you effectively said the same already Completely agree though, there are still going to be players available who can improve the squad

Using my powers of deduction if the decision was made by the Executive Directors of which there is only two then yes it was AB that wanted him sacked. Now my perception on this is that she was reluctant to do so but the reaction of the fans swayed her decision. And before you ask I don't have any proof this is my opinion. I don't have the HMFC Boardroom bugged so don't know for sure however Ann Budge herself said that it was a Board decision to sack him. She never actually specified how the vote if one actually happened panned out from the six directors that make up the Board and whether a full board sat or in fact if all members were present. Given the support that Levein had for Cathro I would assume that he would have wanted to perservere and keep him. One thing that is a fact is that tomorrow's Saturday and I will be at Kilmarnock supporting Hearts and I have a calendar to prove it.
