If Brexit was won on immigration, then those who voted in that fashion will be disappointed.

Correct.

It's all set out in the Queens Speech - read it yourself.

How about you answering the original question I posed "what is fundamentally different between Scotland and other component parts of the UK? Could some Independence lover out there please just answer that?"

So you don't know. Does anyone know?

How's this for fundamentally different?

But the fact remains that if Labour switched to Indy they would not gain many new voters but they certainly would lose some. Most of Govan for an example.

So they won't take that chance.

Govan?

Govan?

Yes Govan as an example.

Govan is known to have a large number of strong Unionists allied to a certain ex football club. They are also Labour voters.

If Labour change to Indy these folk are less likely to vote Labour in future.

So its simple - Labour won't gain any votes by changing to Indy but they will certainly lose some.

So they won't do it.

Is that the same Govan that returns the SNP at Holyrood and Westminster?

Yes the same one. You assume that nobody at all voted Labour in that day.

The fact remains that Labour will lose voter share if they switch.

Do you dispute that?

Labour voters are socialist not unionist, the Scottish tories are the only unionists in Scotland. A pity they chose toryism, they should've stayed the unionist party.

The question was to Boris.

Where will Labs extra votes come from if they change to Indy Boris?

What will the current Unionist Labour voters do Boris?

No they won't, they'll gain from the SNP after Indy and become the first government of Scotland.

But you don't want to hear that do you.

OH Shute, I've replied to you again.

You mean Labours new strategy would be to try and steal votes off the Torys in Scotland?

That's the most ridiculous thing said on this thread to date now.

I think it will happen more or less once the Brexit agreement is struck.  To do so before would be wrong, imo, because it would allow everyone to see how the future of the UK outwith of the EU was going to pan out.  Or at least have a better idea of this.

Like JD & Coke above, had YES won on 55/45 I'd have been uncomfortable too.  What is emphatic?  60%+, although were we to vote for independence anything over 67%+ would be truly emphatic, imo.

Reasonable. Worth pointing out that this means Remain's margin of victory in Scotland was one that you, for one, hesitate to call emphatic, yet it is repeatedly referred to as 'overwhelming'. Is 'overwhelming' a less strong word than 'emphatic'?

If these maps were properly representative, London would be displayed as larger than Scotland. Areas of empty land don't have a vote.

That's not what I said at all. But as always you misrepresent.

Aussie says Labour will swap to an Indy stance.

I say they won't because it will lose them support from the Unionists who still vote Labour like myself for example and they will gain none from the SNP. Hence they won't do it.

We will see Who is right in time.

You just misinterpret and deflect.

I think the debate in Scottish Labour would be along something like should we support Devo Max or Independence.

For once we agree. The safe option for them is Devo max

I hope they're thinking of how to hand powers back to Westminster and start to close down the pretend, cuddly parliament.

Probably. He looks like he enjoys "irony."

Anyway, there won't be a second referendum. The gowd don't want it and would vote to remain in the Union.

In the UK, by order of the Scotch people.

Two schools of thought:

1. He is just a little slower getting along the change curve and, while most have got through denial and anger to acceptance, he is still somewhere between denial and anger. Or,

2. He is just a troll.

If it is the former, he hasn't learned from "his time in Her Majesty's Service" where any poor reaction to a change is met with a "get on with it, you soft t**t".

Like I've just posted, the poll in The Sunday Times today means you're in the minority now with 46%.

So now we are all trolls and slower? Is this to add to the collection of too wee and too stupid?

I can't speak to your physique but, if you think posting part of a graphic and then combining the result of two, separate questions to justify your position is convincing, you may may well have gotten into the gene pool when the lifeguard wasn't looking.

What was the result to the first question in the ST poll and in what direction is the trend moving.

Incidentally, Happy 2nd Anniversary.
