jamb0_1874
Does anybody use any TV guide addons that they could recommend. I downloaded a nemesis build onto my aftv which had a good looking TV guide but I couldn't figure out how to add sports nation etc as the layout and options had completely changed so I've taken it off and installed the normal addons, exodus, Turks, live mix etc. But i need a TV guide to hopefully finish things off. It also has an option to link up with ultimate Mania/ sports mania / sports nation, which saves a lot of work

DETTY29
A quick Q, apols if noted elsewhere. Looking to see if I can do something for my old boy, who only has BT for his phone. BT seem to be offering him free broadband for a year soI was thinking of getting him a Firestick and adding Kodi and a few ad ons. After year 1 and it was working ok, I'm sure I could get him to agree to the monthly broadband fee- or I'll pay it. He would only ever use it to watch live football and tennis. I'd read that Kodi wasn't great with BT who try and block. So, 1. Are firesticks ok with standard BT broadband, or do you really need BT Infinity? 2. Can Kodi blocking be by passed if on BT 3. If I don't use Kodi what are best add ons to put directly on to the firestick for sport. but I find the I have Mobdro on mine not via Kodi, but I find it a pest to navigate. He's nearing 80 so I just can't see him taking on anyone apart from BT, and the free broadband is the only reason he is entertaining it. My mum is on Tesco/Talk Talk (not fibre optic) and kodi works fine there. She's the only one using the broadband. Follow this to unblock kodi for bt https://seo-michael.co.uk/fix-bt-home-hub-kodi-issues/ If you don't want to pay for sportsnation, mobdro isn't too bad, although you do get adverts, but it usually works fine and easy to navigate. https://atherstech.com/2016/01/17/install-mobdro-on-amazon-fire-sticktv/ This site's good for finding which channel a game is on (could be in Croatian, but it's still a 3pm game) http://www.livesoccertv.com/ or http://liveonsat.com/quickindex.html Edit: I find if you sort the mobdro channels alphabetically, it's easier to find channels. I only use it occasionally, though. Edited January 10, 2017 by Joey J J Jr Shabadoo

Do The Dance
Is it better to create your own kodi setup or use one of the many, many builds out there. I'm a little lost being a complete newbie, and don't really know where to start after downloading kodi to my aftv box. I don't have a laptop or computer, if that makes a difference, so doing it all through the box. There are obviously loads of YouTube videos on this, but which are worth following? Spend an extra 30 quid and get the AFTV box. The sticks are ok I suppose but you can hard wire a box and they just work so much better and faster. You'll need to switch off the BT equivalent of sky shield I forget what it's called but someone can advise.

It's not difficult to do it yourself by using this site as a reference...https://seo-michael.co.uk/top-10-add-ons/ Personally I still run a build (wookie) as I like to experiment with some different ones now and again just to see what's available. I've found a few over the last month or two that never get mentioned but have loads of good stuff on there. It's easy enough to tweak the menus etc to the set up I like too. Any suggestions on how to fix? I had similar issues with a m8 box, which may or may not relate. Kept emptying the cache to no avail. Everything I watch would cut off and return me to the lists after 30 minutes. Turns out the box is a wee bit sluggish for full HD content, so most things I watch on that box are now lower standard HD or SD content. Havent had the problem since. I wouldn't be convinced about a firestick handling full HD content very well so it may be worth a try watching lower definition stuff and see if it helps. Short of that, a clean install would be my next suggestion Edited January 11, 2017 by CollyWolly

jack D and coke
Cheers! What's the T8 got over AFTV? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I suppose it's got a HDD slot so you can download films and tv stuff plus you can get emulators for old Nintendo games etc. I haven't used mine for that though and only really bought it to compare it to my AFTV. Tbh both boxes work brilliantly there's nowt in it. AFTV is cheaper, smaller, sleeker so if price is an issue then get that. You can't go wrong with either box though.
