CJGJ
If the SNP want to push this through to fruition in 2020, then they need to sort themselves out. People need Answers. People deserve Answers. You do know the SNP is not supported as a party by all the Yes voters ? I await the answer to just what powers we are going to receive I await the answer as to when this will be........oh and if it can be delivered by Westminster. iantjambo
Glasgow should be ashamed of itself from a turnout perspective. Around 149'000 voters failed to vote. Shameful
Tazio
if voting was compulsory, which it should be, i wonder if the votes would be closer together, or further apart. jambo1185
Salmond going to ground is a kick in the teeth for his supporters. Crawl out, give his defeat speech, no doubt be magnanimous to a tiny degree, then scuttle off.

Smack
Compulsory voting isn't democratic. Huge turnout is a credit to the people of Scotland. To criticise the turnout in Glasgow is to show some real ignorance. I think the turnout proves that people will vote on big issues but are loathe to vote for politicians who are much the same and are unwilling to make any significant changes, especially within the unfair FPP system. Agric
Not surprised lots of SNP areas such as Perth and Kinross/Angus have votes no, these areas tend to be very rural and if you look at the fact yes have only won 4 areas so far it shows the main socialist/yes campaigners tend to be from the big towns/city's. I think the turnout proves that people will vote on big issues but are loathe to vote for politicians who are much the same and are unwilling to make any significant changes, especially within the unfair FPP system. Compulsory voting in Australia doesn't seem to be too widely criticised there. Seems to be accepted as fairly democratic so don't think I agree with you there. Forcing a populating to vote one side isn't democratic.....but that isn't the case....except in N Korea and other such places.

BoJack Horseman
No result is a clear demand for substantial change according to Nicola Sturgeon. Eh? What is she meant to say? As it stand, 1.1m Scots want independence, and 1.3m don't. I think that shows that a large chunk of the country want change. Not enough for a majority, but enough to be heard.
