Eddie Jordan is right....the days of having time to go for a cuppa mid-race are over because you'll miss tons of overtaking/crashes/pit stops now.

Another cracking race, love the DRS and KERS, but I think the tyres are edging on the extreme.

Great apart from te fact that the rbr Is too fast and looks like handing vettel an easy championship... Hopefully some of the other teams can get closer an make it interesting at the front...

Thought the DRS was overdone in this race, it's great great in te first 3 races and perfectly balanced but on this one the car in front was defenceless when the button was pushed so they were just driving by too easily

  • 2 weeks later...

That was the best Spanish GP there has been for years.

Alonsos start was brilliant. That made it a better race as it mucked up the Red Bulls strategy.

Roll on Monaco next weekend.

Best Spanish GP in years. Although they mucked up a bit with the DRS zone should have been at the top of the straight.

It was brilliant, always just waiting on something to happen. I agree they botched the DRS zone, might have had a different winner had it been right. Looking forward to Monaco next week but can't imagine DRS or KERS will be much help there.

After a great start to the season with DRS, KERS and tyres making overtaking normal and races amazingly interesting, we now face Monaco, the dullest, shittest circuit on the planet.

As usual, the race will be follow-the-leader and won in the pit lane.

I understand what you are saying but Monaco does have something about it. It's so tight it's incredible that tehy get round the track. Could be a few safety cars, which along with the tyres scenarion might just mix it up a bit.

Got to love the Monaco Grand Prix. If not for the race, just the sheer glitz and glamour surrounding it.

I was in Monte Carlo last year and recognised all the pasts of the circuit. It's something else!

After experiencing the Grand Prix at Catalunya last week and the incredible atmosphere, I think this weekend will be a great race. I think the kers will be more effective than the DRS this weekend.

It was a fantastic experience, I loved every part of it. I went Friday, Saturday and Sunday, for me Sunday went too quick and I don't mean the cars.

Wish I could experience it at Monaco this weekend.

Absolutely fully agree with this. Even the crashes are dull nowadays - just a few cars gliding into each other.

There's certainly a feel of "The Emperor has not clothes on" when raising this point among F1 followers, though.

he's lucky he missed the barrier facing him or he'd be looking at a broken leg or 2.

I doubt he'll make qualifying.

I liked the fact he brought his hands up to protect his head. Pure instinct.

More that he didn't want to break his wrists on the steering wheel.

Looking forward to seeing Lewis Hamilton from 7th. Perez's crash happened at just the wrong time for him but he had great pace. Should have been front row.

When there's a crash they normally tuck their hands in behind the seatbelts.

i say 3,

the first lap after some risky overtaking from a midfield runner

someone getting out of shape coming out of the tunnel (like rosberg and perez crashes)

someone breaking down on the racing line

Hamilton could still win this race, but it would be dependant on tyres and safety cars, he needs them at the right time.

Just on the TV that the Safety Car has only been out ten times in the last eleven years.

I'd have thought it would have been a lot more than that.

Mistakes by Red Bull in the pit stops and Jenson leads. Wide open race now.
