It’s strange that we can all watch the same thing yet have opposing views about it .

The Northman was just a simplistic re-telling of Shakespeare's Hamlet.

Which itself was lifted by Shakespeare from an old Icelandic/Scandinavian legend about a prince called Amleth, who vowed revenge on his uncle after he murdered his father and married his mother.

It's a tale that's been adapted for screen many many many many times and The Northman is just another one off the production line.

The Northman

Heard it was rubbish on here, I'm sorry but that poster didn't know film. The attention to detail the sound this is a high quality product and im only 2 minutes in, reminds me of The Lighthouse. The standard of film these days and what these directors are doing in remarkable

5/5

I wouldn't mind seeing that. The Witch was absolutely haunting.

The Northman is about Prince Amleth so is it not just the story of that rather than Hamlet ?

Attempted The Northman at the weekend. Not for me. It fell between two stools, part of it wanted to be a mythical piece of oddness like Valhalla Rising and part of it wanted to be an adventure. It failed on both counts for me.

Apparently Black Phillip was an absolute dick and attacked Ralph Ineson constantly during filming. He had a few trips to A&E.

The Banshees Of Inisherin

A cold and humourless film that I did not enjoy

5/10

I loved it but this movie will split opinions like no other this year.

I found it funny with some great dialogue.8/10.

To be fair only saw 10 minutes

Yet your initial post insinuated you’d watched the whole thing. You would have been as well commenting on the trailer.

Working my way through some Classics.

Last night and tonight I’ve watched Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and the Wizard of Oz. Both brilliant.

This is just a wee thread on the internet you know that right. This is why I didn't do comments for a while because there's people like you that are aggressive for no reason. I stopped watching because I saw where it was going, and that's fine. You don't like it go and cry about it and insinuated don't be a twat it's a film

The Banshees of ..., bit odd but defo worth a watch if you used to go to the cameo/filmhoose lots back in the day but not the really weird shit you got there!

Hardly aggressive. It isn’t like I called you a test or anything 😂

Anyone seen Violent Night, is it worth a watch?

It's worth watching for the home alone homage. Great scene.

The film is what you'd expect, very violent and very silly.

Not a classic,  but not a dud either.

Cheers Bonney, seen Nobody which is by the same person I think. Enjoyed that, pretty violent too and the bus scene is hilarious 👍

The Unbearable Weight Of Massive Talent on Amazon Prime. Starring Nicolas Cage as Nic Cage.
Very silly and meta film with him playing himself and getting into a plot involving kidnapping, the CIA and a super fan played by Pedro Pascal. Good fun with some great lines and performances from the two main characters.

Quite enjoyed this. 7/10

If you liked Nobody then Violent Night will be to your taste. I enjoyed both. Lots of violence with a few laughs thrown in. VN will be on my watch list each Christmas.

Cool film

10/10

Are these reviews based on the opening 10 minutes or just the trailers?
