Great film with a decent soundtrack by Eddie Vedder.

It is.

On the back of watching I’ve googled his story and the film appears accurate.

Nothing but admiration for a guy with everything (tragically not in his eyes) to life for to go “fexkit I’m out of here”. and go on an adventure.

What a bloke!!

Significant Other - Utter pish.

Mr Garrigans Phone - Pish, not a horror

Luckiest Girl Alive - Ok, 6/10

Carl Fredrickson

The Woman King

Decent story but I struggle with fight scenes in a lot of films and this is one of those where it concentrates on the main characters too much IMO.

7/10

Venom.

A decently enjoyable entry into the superhero genre. It's good that Disney don't have complete control over ALL Marvel characters, as it lets other people be more creative with them.

7/10

Venom 2.

Like the first, only a bit better. Loses a point because it lost its way in the final act but otherwise good.

7/10

I Am Mother

Science fiction drama following a post-apocalyptic Earth and a robot whose task it is to re-start the human race by raising children from stored embryos.

Decent enough.

6.5/10

The Lost King

The film I have enjoyed most recently. The story of Phillipa Langley and her quest to find the remains of Richard the third.

This is her story though the University of Leicester may say otherwise (one of their employees has threatened legal action)

Sally Hawkins is a great actress and plays the lead role well as does Steve Coogan who is her ex-husband

It may not be everyones taste but it ticked a lot of boxes with me.

Swaying towards a 9/10

What Happened To Monday

In the near future where an overpopulated, fascist Earth has enacted a strict one child policy, 7 identical septuplets spend one day a week each acting as the same woman to the outside world whilst the other 6 hide at home.

When one of them goes missing, the other 6 have to piece together what happened whilst evading the brutal authorities.

A tight, gripping thriller with an astonishing performance by Noomi Rapace, playing all 7 women, each with their own mannerisms and character.

9/10

Emily - an ‘imagined life’ of Emily Brontë.

Not sure if I’d like it much (and was a bit concerned that it was > 2 hours long) but really enjoyed it.

Very dark and superb acting.

Bullet Train 6/10

Started off great but it's too long and I found myself losing interest well before the end.Decent action though and I did like the twins.

Disagree although I do think the ending was a bit laughable, I liked the introduction of a new psycho and there were a good variety in gory kills but you don’t go watch Halloween for anything but slasher scenes and blood

Deadstream, 5/10. Found footage horror, an Internet personality streams a night in a haunted house, and actually is quite atmospheric and creepy, then inexplicably falls to bits on the last quarter with shitty effects and a really daft ending

Black Adam.

DCs latest offering. Lots of action and quite well filmed. My kids loved it which is saying something as they arent normally fans of DC.

I would give it a 7/10 as a family film but it isnt my normal cup of tea

Since it's October i have got Shudder for the month, mainly because there was an original release that i kept hearing a bit of heat from.

It's called Speak No Evil and the basic outline is a Danish family meets a Dutch family while in Tuscany and months later receive an invitation to spend the weekend in their home, and agreeing out of politeness.

This politeness is then tested to the extreme by their Hosts

A very uncomfortable film in the same vein as Funny Games

The Banshees of Inisherin. Bit if a bizarre tale but very enjoyable all the same. If you liked In Bruges this will also be up your street. 7.5/10.

Ditched it after an hour or so and went to bed. Don't think I'll bother watching the rest.

Baffled by the high ratings it has been getting. 😕

That looks excellent and I'll watch it today.

Also, watcher looks decent too.

I watched deadstream last night. A YouTube influencer spends the night in a haunted house.

I enjoyed it.

Don’t mind a slow burn, especially if the tension gets built

Yeah the tension is set from the get go and you know it's going somewhere bad but can't put your finger on it.

It's one of the best horror i have seen in a while these foreign ones are just a different gravy.

Barbarian does look quite good also i am waiting for that to pop up
