ArmiyaRomanova
Just shot 67. Gutted i three putted 15. Definitely find it easier on slow greens. I notice the tournament online says unlimited play. Can i confirm we are only to play each round once? Interesting, I'm sure that I'd set the round up to be one play only - so something's awry there. Possibly my mistake, and since it's too late to change it, let's just call it fate - play this round as often as you feel you need to. The other three rounds will definitely be one play only (unless WGT doesn't pay any attention to what I specify).
ArmiyaRomanova
Just playing my round now, and WGT definitely hasn't paid attention to my game settings - there should be low wind this round, and I'm getting anything between 9 and 17 mph. And I'd selected an easy pin setting - not in operation going by the 7th hole. Ach weel.... Edited August 8, 2010 by ArmiyaRomanova
Boof
Well, shot par yesterday (I think). Longest putt was 4.5 ft - total length of putts made was under 28 ft. Need more practice
Dave Spacey
Little bit of encouragement for the guys at the bottom of the pile! If the people that came last gave up we wouldn't have a game!!! You can do better than that Graygo We started off the first game withing a few shots of each other. P.s Plenty back spin on iron shots, it's a life saver
Boof
Just put the tee shot in the hole - saves all this putting malarkey. Yet to happen (for me), BTW.

Mark_Mywords
The best thing I've bought is the Starter Plus Iron Set for only 49 Credits (30p approx). These give your shots a high tragectory, which makes the golf balls land softly on the greens, instead of rolling off the back. They make the game play alot easier. Give these a try Graygo. Mark. I never got the irons.. but I got a new driver and holes like the 7th which were horrible to play are now not bad.. Also I am on a lot of the par 5s in 2 now. Huge difference to the game! Bigsmak
Just shot a 6 under 66, no bogeys ... thought i'd taken the lead to find a sneaky 64 in the clubhouse... Nice shooting AR Still feel i could have been 4 or 5 shots better... misses so many 10-15 ft putts from decent approaches.

I took your advice and bought this iron set, but when I try to equip my bag with them I keep getting an error message (error No #1093), I've reported it to the WGT mods so fingers crossed they can fix it. jambopompey
Managed a good round, nice 75 a couple over par. Starting to get the range and approach shots with my new clubs, I even managed an eagle on a par 5. Still need to practice my putting, got a spider putter that helps more with the power and angle, still have the odd hole that I can double bogey. A few more rounds on courses with these settings will allow us poorer players a chance to improve our game. Might try a sneeky last round when I finish today to see if I can improve my score

Elephant stones
Has anyone done any of the surveys yet to get credits.. do they work ok? I've done a couple and the credits have been added straight away but i'm getting rejected every time now. Even tried lying about my background but it's no good. Also i've just found out that you can remove the flagstick before your shot, the flag icon at the top right beside the distance to the hole. Shot an 80... with 6 times 3 putting or more ( think there was a 4 putt in there) .. what a huge difference between ARs settings where Ive been shooting 68 easy and looking like making a birdie on every second hole... ArmiyaRomanova
Preamble.. Of our 63 current members, almost a third (20) have now achieved Pro status, 5 of them with score averages under 70.00. All the Amateur players? score averages are dropping quickly, with several on the verge of Pro status. Very few of us still have Hack status. The highest score in the current tourney round was 89 - compare that with the 9 players who registered scores of more than 90 in the first round of the last tourney (on St Andrews with similar settings) and it?s clear that huge improvements are being made. Great stuff! (Apologies, I realise that there have been some big leaps in scores amongst the Amateur players in this round, but I don?t have the time to trawl records and draw comparisons - but you know who you are!) ST ANDREWS MARATHON So, to the tourney First Round. Thanks either to WGT system fart or administrative incompetence on my part, the round allowed unlimited play - and I notice that quite a few of us took full advantage of this (myself included ). With everyone improving rapidly, the two players (Deviskan and hiz999) tied for the lead on 62 are followed by a further 10 players with par or below par scores. They are... ayeball Bigsmak ElephantStones AndyMcI77 sosweb BBSHARK1874 wilsonjambo Chris1874 JamboBoof jamiej29 And no-one?s out of contention for a top ten finish. Here?s the Leaderboard at the end of Round One. Hope you all do as well or better in Round Two, which is open for play now. 48 hours to register your score... and it's definitely SINGLE PLAY this round!
