Doesn't happen often, but it can. The team that drafted them would retain rights to them, though. If he didn't subsequently sign the contract, he wouldn't be able to play, never mind refuse. Possibly most high profile recent example is Eli Manning. Told the Chargers he wouldn't play for them if drafted at number one. They did draft him but immediately traded him to the Giants. Davis will also have to pay a relocation fee, but if it's like the Chargers and Rams, he can spread his payment out over time. The expansion fee to Vegas is expected to be less than $400 million compared to $650 million for the Chargers and the Rams. All in, from the three moves, each NFL owner (aside from Rams, Chargers and Raiders, who won't get a piece of their own payment) will have made more than $53 million when the payments are complete. If they're American and they're on a wee holiday, I can't see them going to watch a game, if they already have an allegiance to another team. Your also going to get loads of stories of players in trouble, be it gambling, gentlemen clubs etc. Can you also imagine the visiting teams if their season is already done...Party!!! They can indeed, but the more opportunities you put in front of someone to #### up, the greater the chance that they will imo. There are 76 casinos, never mind the other stuff. We'll find out in time I suppose, but just don't like the move anyway, but that's probably just because I don't like franchises moving, even though I support one that has. Just read a report that NBA road teams are winning more games than ever due to Tinder. Players instead of going out clubbing are staying in the team hotel and just hooking up there through Tinder.
