I wonder how many Brandon Weedens they can draft!

Still a bit of work to do before they get to point of being able to win their division, I'd say.

How many top players must be looking at that with dread thinking " oh shit, I'm gonna end up at the Browns"

As long as they get paid as high draft picks, the majority won't care!

Yeah, your probably right, quite sad that though. Absolutely no chance of winning anything.

Very few NFL players ever win anything.

You want to think when you go in to that first game of ore season that you have a chance, albeit a slim one though, surely. With the Browns, the only chance you have, is no chance.

First thought for many will be the pay check, though!

I dunno, if I was a player I'd be intrigued by going there and making them better - look at what Joe Thomas has done. Turned down many an offer because he wants to with with the Browns.

Have fun with Haden. Guy was such a disappointment but did improve slightly last year. Raiders yet to make any moves is slightly concerning but pressing matter is Mack and Carr contracts.

How does the draft work then? If the Browns are so bad can a player turn round and be like "f that I'm not going there" or does he not get a choice? If the latter what's to stop him just refusing to play or something?

I may be wrong but they can refuse the contract offered I believe. There was a while episode with Bosa and the Chargers last year.

He'll be adding depth, it's a prove it kinda deal.

Doesn't happen often, but it can. The team that drafted them would retain rights to them, though. If he didn't subsequently sign the contract, he wouldn't be able to play, never mind refuse.

Possibly most high profile recent example is Eli Manning. Told the Chargers he wouldn't play for them if drafted at number one. They did draft him but immediately traded him to the Giants.

Patriots going to have a lot of fun with Cooks.

Win the Super Bowl in February.

Win free agency in March.

That's why they're so infuriatingly good! No resting on their laurels.

I long for the pre-Belicheat/Brady days when the Pats were shite and a laughing stock. Sigh.

That's one reason why you never know what's round the corner for the Browns, they were a great team in the distant past and, in the NFL, they could easily be one again.

Nucky Thompson

I thought I would post this information on this thread rather than start a new one.

Edinburgh Wolves Premier league schedule is out. They start with 2 away fixtures then have 5 home games on the bounce.

Home games

EK Pirates Sunday May 7th @ Peffermill

Tamworth Saturday May 13th @ Meggetland

Lancashire Saturday May 20th @ Meggetland

Merseyside Saturday June 3rd @ Meggetland

Sheffield Saturday June 10th @ Meggetland

Great that the games at Meggatland are on a Saturday as there is a licensed bar and you can have a few beers watching the games :2thumbsup:

FBI claim they've recovered Brady's jersey on 'foreign soil'

Pretty ridiculous situation.

FBI involved in a missing jersey, ridiculous. My wife has just asked me if I might give them a call and see if they would be interested in tracking down my missing sock.

Some media personnel seems to have had it. Dull one for that boy.

Yup, wouldn't like to be him. Bummer though, would have loved it to have been Edelman all along

NFL UK Live back in Edinburgh in April. 7 quid a ticket though. Was a good wee night last time but I wouldn't pay for the privilege.

Really enjoyed the last one, but it won't let me click on the link to the event, or to the buy tickets.

I'm still bitter about the lack of bevvy at the last one.

 I remember your seethe, hopefully won't have that problem this time.

3 of us going this time...really enjoyed it last time and what's ?7?

I don't think I'll be taking my boys this time, think they got a bit bored. Was shocked this morning when this Mrs said she'd like to go as she enjoyed it the last time.

Yeah it's maybe not for young uns.

I totally get why they have put a small fee on it though, every event was rife with folk getting tickets and not bothering to attend. It's not even the price of a couple of pints...oops

Bought tickets. Going with a Hibs fan who's also a huge Ravens fan. Think he's got a lob on already with Steve Smith in attendance.

Going to go again. Was much better than expected last year and eicc should be a better venue.

The guests are better too: Kurt Warner, Steve Smith & Danny Shelton.

I'm going with a Ram and a Card so you can imagine the mess they are in about the possibility to meet Warner

Vegas raiders all set to be confirmed tomorrow.

Shame Oakland made such a ***** of a new stadium.

Approved 31-1.

Las Vegas Raiders, I will go and see them play when all up and running.

I would have preferred to go back LA probably but that was never happening for a variety of reasons.

Interesting times for raider nation.

If the stadium's within walking distance of the strip, that will be an away day to rival New Orleans.

Lots of very loyal fans being let down but it's a business decision.

Should attract a new fan base at least. Not your average raider look anyway.

Yup. Although I guess moving isn't new to the Raiders.

I'm still pretty sceptical that Vegas can sustain a NFL team. That said, the financiers obviously are not!

All good building a billion dollar stadium but there seems to be no infrastructure in place for it.

Interesting to see how Davis explains his reasons to the fans. Oakland's mayors chat the past few days just seems to be her covering her back.

Anyway 2-3 more season with the tarp.

About 50m bucks each team owner will pocket with the relocation fee. Another reason it sailed through. Only Stephen Ross in Miami tried to veto it.

What's the relocation fee?

Davis will also have to pay a relocation fee, but if it's like the Chargers and Rams, he can spread his payment out over time. The expansion fee to Vegas is expected to be less than $400 million compared to $650 million for the Chargers and the Rams. All in, from the three moves, each NFL owner (aside from Rams, Chargers and Raiders, who won't get a piece of their own payment) will have made more than $53 million when the payments are complete.

Apologies the figure quoted is for all three recent moves.

Think this is a shocker. Relying on tourists to rock up to games to fill the stadium. If they're American and they're on a wee holiday, I can't see them going to watch a game, if they already have an allegiance to another team. Your also going to get loads of stories of players in trouble, be it gambling, gentlemen clubs etc. Can you also imagine the visiting teams if their season is already done...Party!!!

I agree about the crowds. It's not just in game attendance, but also local market for TV, merchandise etc.,

Not convinced the latter point is a particularly realistic issue. Players could already get up to all that mischief in other places they visit for games (e.g. New Orleans, for example).

They can indeed, but the more opportunities you put in front of someone to #### up, the greater the chance that they will imo. There are 76 casinos, never mind the other stuff. We'll find out in time I suppose, but just don't like the move anyway, but that's probably just because I don't like franchises moving, even though I support one that has.

Just read a report that NBA road teams are winning more games than ever due to Tinder. Players instead of going out clubbing are staying in the team hotel and just hooking up there through Tinder. No late nights anymore. What a life.
